Amphora
While most of the houses in Kasaline are made of traditional building materials found throughout Kasesh, the Amphora is denoted by the white stone that makes up nearly every home, shop, and tavern. The air even feels different walking this close to the lake -- cooler and crisper. While some call this district home, it’s main denizens are artists, sculptors, musicians, and poets. Spaces are left open to get more cool air off the lake, as well as more customers and onlookers from the busy streets. The people here also wear lighter fabrics to enjoy the breeze -- its distance from the outside of town means the people are less armored and less prepared for a desert voyage.
Demographics
Among the inhabitants expected in the Kaseshi Desert, the Amphora is also known for the Naiads: a race of water-fey in a world lacking in many places for them to thrive. They spend about as much time on land in the district as they do in the lake, likely why it’s known to the locals in their language: Lake Vistonida. While Naiads do occasionally travel, they tend to have a body of water they bond with, so it’s rare to find a permanent resident outside of the lake and and its tributaries.
The Naiads are also great lovers of art, music, and all things beautiful. Some say that Kasaline was started by a wandering poet who fell in love with a Naiad, and built a home to be near them. In either case, the Naiads are regular patrons of the artists in the Amphora, when they aren’t making or selling the art themselves.
