337-088 Arncastle to the City League

The Night Before

Time for the player characters to introduce each other.

Elder Oakendust comes over and sits down next to the pair of you.
"Well, I see you have introduced yourselves to each other. Good. Now, I need to have a few words with you both, as I suspect I will be preoccupied tomorrow morning. There are two roles I expect from you over the next few weeks while the wagons make their way to the City League."
"First, ensure that the wagons and mounts are maintained. While I expect the wagon owners and their assistants to keep an eye on these, I need you both, with your superior experience, to check them over daily. It shouldn’t take too long, but it will help ensure a smooth journey. Boris Thorne and Jasper will assist you with any issues regarding the wagons. Edwin Hark, while he has more knowledge of fruit and vegetables, he's pretty handy with the animals too."
He continues, "Second, I need you to be vigilant and make sure the wagons and their teams get to the League safely. The journey should be trouble-free, and you can make it from village to village with an early start each day. You are fortunate to have a retired veteran of decorated status joining you for the entire trip to the City. Don’t be surprised if Captain Roland takes the lead in the case of any disturbances. However, make wise decisions—the safety of those on the wagons is more important than the contents."
"When Lysan and Liora are well enough I will send them direct to the City League by boat, so that they might journey back with the caravan to Arncastle, and your final wages will accompany them. Rest assured I will pay well for a succesful journey of all the caravans."
"Do you have any questions before I suggest you get a good night's rest? We'll be up at the crack of dawn, as soon as the cockrel crows!"
