Personal history

Arc was born in the northern Kingdom of Frewen, somewhere in the central province of Arlen. Arc's parents, Martin and Lucca, were gypsy-like nomadic treasure hunters, moving wherever there was scent of wealth to be made. About a month after Arc was born, Martin and Lucca decided to travel towards the lands surrounding Frewen City to try and find the fabled Sword of Arlen (a legendary sword belonging to the founding king of Frewen). During this time, Martin and Lucca lost all their money trying to find the sword. Lucca found that they were unable to support themselves and baby at the same time, so they decided to leave him at a children's home in the city. So Arc was left on the steps of the South Frewen Orphanage. It was here at the orphanage where Arc was raised, never knowing the identity of his birth parents, nor having an explanation as to why they didn't want him. 
When Arc turned eight years old, he was able to enroll in the True Citizens School, a kingdom-funded school for welfare children and orphans who would otherwise have no opportunity to have an education. After trying out a number of subjects in school, he showed a great interest and proficiency in weapons training. As a result he was introduced to an Elite Frewen Guard member named Tauren. Over the next few years, Tauren became like a father to Arc, and Arc flourished under his training, becoming skilled in using one of the most difficult weapons at the school - the twinblade. At age 16, Arc graduated from the True Citizens School, which meant that he could no longer live at the orphanage where he grew up. Having no more home he was taken in by Tauren into his own house, and became like a part of the family. To try and support himself, and to show his gratitude toward Tauren, Arc attempted to join the Frewen Guard also, but failed his entry exam. He tried again a year later at age 17, but also did not pass. After his second failed attempt, Arc withdrew into himself, feeling that he had failed his master twice. At this time he also began to feel like he wasn't worthy of Tauren's generosity and love.
On his 18th birthday, Arc decided it was wrong for him to stay anymore and moved out of Tauren's house. He lived in the streets and applied to become an odd-job mercenary for hire within the city (a popular profession). He successfully found work in a local Mercenary Outpost that specialized in farmhand helps. Everyday, Arc would find work that took him out of the city to help local farmers. Every once in a blue moon, he was able to go on delivery jobs with the farmers to help drop off produce to markets. During one of these jobs, his cart was stopped on the road by a band of thieves and the produce was robbed, leaving their cart empty. Arc felt terrible that he had no means to help protect the farmer and his goods and vowed that day to live a life helping others. He quit working at the outpost and started working at The Takkan's Den, another Mercenary Outpost in the city that had no specialties. Arc thought this would open his opportunities to help in armed escort jobs, rescue missions, as well as general labor help. While working here, he formed a casual friendship relationship with the Outpost Master, Frith Reh'loa, and also a close friendship with a coworker, Finn Alpheaus. They eventually become inseparable friends, with Finn being the rational counterpart to Arc's sometimes heady decisions.

Arc graduated from the True Citizens School in Frewen City at age 16.

Arc is an odd-job mercenary in Frewen City. He works for Frith Reh'loa in The Takkan's Den.

Failures & Embarrassments

Arc's major failures where failing the entrance exam to The Frewen Guard two years in a row. Because of this, he considered himself a failure for a time and even decided to live on the streets because he didn't feel worthy enough to live in his mentor Tauren's household anymore.

Mental Trauma

Arc was abandoned when he was born. He grew up never knowing his real parents and instead found his mentor Tauren to be the best "father" he's ever known. Growing up without parents and the knowledge that he was unwanted caused him mental anguish for his entire childhood and formative teenage years.

Arc longs to help others. He was involved in an incident where a client of his was robbed before his eyes and he had no means of protecting him or his wares. After this, he vowed to always help the helpless, and to protect those who can't protect themselves.
