Eldorani Crater

The Eldorani Crater is a massive geological disturbance separating The Verdant from The Wildwood. It was formed with the end of the Second Age, when The Black King invoked a ritual to achieve lichdom and sacrified the entirety of the eladrin population loyal to him. The energies involved in the ritual shattered the planet around him, forming a crater along the boundaries of the unimaginably large arcane circle used in the process. The Scar rests within the center of the crater.
By the Fifth Age, the earth within the crater is noticeably charged with traces of magical energy. Flora grows within the crater, but in a twisted and dark way, and the free peoples of the world consider the forest within to be haunted. As such, few people visit it, and no one lives within.
