Popular Myths
There circulate many myths surrounding Vomana and her relationship with the moons that circle Aedar. She is typically associated with Vol, the gray moon, which is also the largest in the sky. Her connection with the other two moons, however, is more so up to interpretation. Some say that as the goddess of the moon, she holds dominion over all three, with Vol being her favorite. Others insist that Mara and Nabi are beyond the Nightfall's domain, and are instead their own seperate entities. Finally, the strangest of all, is the theory that the Nightfall is not one goddess but three, and each one takes after one of the moons and act as a council rather than an individual.
History With Other Deities
Those who have at least a common knowledge about Vomana know about her relationship with Zamudra the Depth Queen. These two Deities seemingly have a romantic connection, which is rooted within their domains. The moon in the sky has a great effect on the tides of the sea, as such these two goddesses were intertwined since they first met. Famously, Kiltsune the Lady Rose was the one to set the two up, and as such their relationship is the Lady Rose's proudest accomplishment. Vomana and Zamudra's care for each other goes all the way down to their temples, who hold a special conjoined holiday to celebrate the Deities' love.
The Chthonic whom Vomana despises the most is Zateus the Veiled Viper. Both the Deities of the sun and moon despise the Veiled Viper, and for different reasons. The Nightfall despises Zateus due to his crimes happening within her domain of night. As both Deities hold some power over darkness, their struggle for control over that aspect of reality is felt all the way down to their acolytes. Acolytes of Zateus seek to cut down those who follow Vomana, while her acolytes seek to shine moonlight on the crimes of those who ally with the viper.
