Mk-JM5/2 Screecher 2

Nydonian: X-TC5/2 Хашгирах 2 (Khashgirakh)

Propulsion

The engines of the aircraft have been greatly improved from the original, almost a complete redesign leading to a substantially higher operating temperature and thrust. In addition to this internal changes, an afterburner has been added as well as a variable area nozzle. These lead to a good boost in thrust while also using more fuel. A Larger internal fuel tank was added to compensate for this added usage. JM5/2s have around 30 minutes of fly time, dropping durastly to just over 5 when the afterburners are engaged. Due to the increased maneuverability allowed by the superior attudite control systems including the turbine nozzles, the front wing panels to either side of the cockpit were also removed after the increased speeds led to the aircraft being thrown out of control due to the excess surface area.

Weapons & Armament

An upgraded 22mm rotary cannon offset to the left of the cockpit fires at 2,220 rpm from a 900 round magazine. The same tried and true 40mm rocket pods stay on the Screecher 2.

Communication Tools & Systems

A radio antenna fin has been added just behind the cockpit to greatly increase the communication range of the craft.

Additional & auxiliary systems

Due to additional fuel pushing the craft's center of gravity further back, a fourth wheel had to be added to the rear of the craft to prevent the nose from angering to the sky and the rear scraping on the ground. Even then, Screecher 2s take off incredibly quickly, with many pilots not being prepared for how fast they were are nearly crashing when their wheels prematurely left the tarmac.
