Worship of the Primordials

Not for me, nor those few like me the Ascended. Those are new fangled gods, and work well enough for those of you so concerned with the Void that you don't understand the nature of its duality, the truth that the Aether and the Void are not seperate, but pieces of the same realm. That the so called Ruined Gods are not evil, merely the dark aspects of creation, just as there are light aspects, the elemental energies you so name. Domhan and Iracundia are but one and the same. This is a failing of society, in my mind. We forget where we come from, how the world came to be. We need not fear the beasts of the black, should we just honor the old ways, and feed them naught.

History

Once worshipping the Ruined Gods was not taboo nor evil or heresy. For once it was remembered and acknowledged that they are merely the tainted truth of our own ambitions. The Aether and the Void are but realms of dreams, the forces of creation and destruction but reflections of extremities of sapient beings natures. Domhan the stoic courage, bravery and loyalty of a warrior, Iracundia the violence a warrior is capable of , the Wrath they can possess within them. They are two sides of one coin. The same can be said of all the elemental forces and the Ruined Gods. The primordial forces of creation are living entities and were once held in proper regard and esteem, worshipped like gods. The ancient Tanes were seen as their heralds, their prophets, and first of honor amongst their children. However when the darker aspects of these entities began showing themselves, by our own actions and our own hands, rather than address the core issue, and change course as societies, alter behaviors and values....we simply elevated new paragons, and smashed the old. Our ancient ancestors, in a war that cost us nearly everything, in a war that mostly reset societies as we know them, and cost us fathomless centuries or millenia of advancement, saw fit to wage war on the Tanes, to purge them from this reality, and cost us much. For they continued to feed the Void, the Ruined Realm, with their actions, whilst weakening the Aether, the realm of dreams and of creation.

This is why Valerick is as it is today. This is why our world bleeds and our world cries out. This is why we struggle so, even with our new fancy Ascended pantheon. Because we have lost our way. The old Gods lay cast aside, forgotten, yet they still attempt, even tainted and twisted as they are now, ill with the poison of the Ruined Realm, to care for us. Yet by and large, we scorn them, we stand against their recognition today. In this day and age, those few whom practice the old ways in secret risk being branded heretic and executed. Makes no wonder Valerick is such a mess.
