Jarl Dimitris and Jarlessa Janet Anvilstone, I hope this letter finds you both in fine health. I send these letters to you and the other leaders of nations reclaimed or yet to be fully resettled in hopes of requesting your aide. As you are no doubt aware by now, the conflict between the Children of the Ascended and those of us labelled as monsters, those of us Arcanis Touched, has spiraled well and truly out of hand. Decades of bloodshed, total war, the world over, has seen every nation engage in conflict with their own organizing militaries with both sides
This simply cannot continue. How many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, world wide will die. How many of your own peoples are you willing to see buried in this? Raechin is a young nation, how many more can die before stability in this crucial time is gone. Beastmen raids are increasing in your homeland, they are becoming more bold and you are hard pressed to deal with them, because of the continuing conflict and escalating violence of it by both us and the Children of the Ascended. I myself feel keenly the world itself, our home, pushing back against the violence, whilst being warped by it. The Aether is becoming more unstable by the year, and I fear if this conflict continues to spiral, we, ourselves, may create a Sundering.
The reason for this is because we whom wield magick are a danger, but also a necessity. By merely existing we help repair the Aether, help keep it stable. A bold claim, yet one I promise I can prove if given the chance to make my case. How many more villages and towns butchered or razed to the ground will it take to get yourselves and others to see reason. To see you need to step in. To unite and force peace talks. We are willing to parley, we have been this entire time, for all the decades of this endless violence. The churches have had no such inclinations, save for the Faithful of the Lady of the Leaves. This is because Talia was one of us. I would know, for I am her grand-daughter and her last living descendant.
All we wish is for the goal of genocide to cease. For us to create a system, a structure to give those of us touched by the Arcane to also exist, to live! Is that so wrong, and is that so much to ask? I think not, and as such, for your approval, I have within this letter, included a full nine page layout of something I am suggesting be called the Magisterium. It is a bold concept, a bold project, and one that would need many leaders involved and everyone on the same page. Most importantly however, it would need to be embraced by a neutral party or parties strong enough to force both us and the Churches to the peace table to negotiate an end to this nightmare our world has lived for near 300 years. An end to these foolish crusades.
So with that goal in mind, I humbly submit this report, complete with explanations as approachable as can be managed of the eight sorts of stable Arts of Arcanis we have discovered, what they do, how they work, how they would be taught, as well as a detailed plan for a recognized organization that like the churches, would operate beyond national borders yet under national oversight. I am sure the Children of the Ascended will not accept that part and would at minimum demand they also have some level of oversight, which I'm sure I will surprise them by saying that I am absolutely open to discussing and coming up with a framework of what that would look like. But not as some lesser being, no, I would demand such a discussion be as an equal.
So I would humbly request, as I am with all nation leaders, please review the enclosed documents and drafts, arrange a conference with other national leaders perhaps. Talk, debate, discuss, come up with edits and go through the provided materials with a fine tooth comb, proposing changes where you may think they are warranted. Once you are satisfied you all have gone over the document well enough, make it known there is an agreement between all the nations of Valerick that this conflict must cease, the violence and spillover of it has become to great, and should the aggression continue, you will all bring your military mights to bear against both sides. Demand a peace conference, which I will state for the record myself and all eight of the Arch-Magisters of these burgeoning orders all agree to. They have voted me as their head, their voice, their Grand Magister, a term and title I humbly and graciously accept, and intend to represent with dignity and respect.
It is my deepest hope that the pair of you, and your equals in every nation, will find these ideas contained within at least a satisfactory starting point, and we can all work together to bring this conflict to an end before events spiral into things far and away worse for all whom call these lands home.
Most Sincerely,
Grand Magister Elysia Tel'in'naviri of the Emerald Order
