Fastolph Merzu
Fastolph Merzu is the owner and operator of The Dusty Tome Bookshop. Fastolph is an elderly gnome gentleman who always appears deep-in-thought about who knows what. He runs his shop like a fine-tuned library with every book methodically organized and cataloged. He constantly fumbles with his glasses trying to bring his subject into focus, and is somewhat hard of hearing.
He cares very little for gossip or rumors, and sticks to the business at hand when dealing with customers. Fastolph’s collection is quite extensive, however not impressive in content. His collection is mostly amateur novels, catalogs, almanacs, census data, and the occasional topical reference book on various subjects. If a customer knows what sort of book they are looking for, or what subject matter they are interested in, he can pinpoint it within his shop with uncanny accuracy. He is also aware of every book within his collection, and if asked if he has a particular book that he doesn’t have, he knows with absolute certainty whether he possesses it or not.
