Aeris' Embrace

The red walls surrounding the large complex gives off a unique skyline. This is the temple of pleasure and healing, the spiritual center of the Aeris Islands, and some even call the temple; "Home of Beauty".   This is the largest and main place of worship of Aeris, one of the Avatars.
"When you enter the gates you will be met by some of the most arousing creatures you have ever seen. And they are all there just to satisfy your curiosities! I tell you friend it was worth the high price, you have never had a true night encounter until you have lain with a sea elf. Ask your father for some funds and I will make sure to bring you the next time I venture south" - Onse Roarhart to one of his possies.

Purpose / Function

Built by the followers of Aeris to be a safe haven, for people in need of help. It have served a handful of purposes since it's construction, most prevalent being that of a house of worship to the Avatar of Beauty and Sexuality.   It's other purposes have included; house of passion for where, in exchange for donations to the temple, the wealthy may spend time with the followers of Aeris, a place where the sick or injured may seek help free of charge. The temple have spent much time studying both sicknesses of the body as well as the mind.

Sensory & Appearance

The scents of the almost palace-like temple hits everyone with awe. Many of the tropical and varied flowers give of an aroma unlike any other, there is also the small hint of the scented body-oil used by the priests and acolytes of the temple in both sexual and healing acts.

Alterations

As the complex of buildings have stood more than three millennia many alterations and expansions have been made, mostly to give room to new halls where people may find help or companionship.
"One of the larger alterations is where the prayer hall is built in the northern area of the complex, it is grand and on the stone walls of the hall you will find beautiful carvings and paintings beyond your wildest imagination. Or at least that is the tale being told as only the true followers of Aeris may enter, and they are tight-mouthed about it." - Brand Foretought, Sheppard of the Singers of Baccaous.

Architecture

Surrounding the main chapel is the immaculate gardens where finely crafted stone spires rise above the walls to give the temple its unique skyline. All buildings have fine murals and sculptures and details depicting scenes of beauty; flowers, landscapes, persons in all states of undress.   The gardens have paths laden with fine white and black stones, these paths go between the different buildings of the temple complex.

History

Many miraculous acts have been performed in the temple by its acolytes, where stories tell of true rebirths and negotiations of an all but impossible nature have been signed, by dignitaries and other persons of importance.

I like the combination of studying and *ahem* appreciating *ahem* the body go together in this place. It really brings out a sense of a foreign culture with customs one might not be used to. Really good job. :)

You should check out the The 5 Shudake, if you want of course.
