Councilwoman Luci Bernadette Roussaeu

Luci Roussaeu is the Chairwoman of the Rising Sun Trading Cooperation. She is brash yet savvy businesswoman and merchant who united a coalition of smaller trading and through cut throat business practices rose to the top of the trade - literally.
Luci walks with the swagger of a sailor and prefers to dress in men's clothing. While her taste in clothing is unique, it is never tasteless. She in fact, due to her many travels abroad, has often started new fashion trends by sporting some new piece of clothing or accessory that she or one of her ships had acquired on a recent trading mission. Most recently, is the scarlet sash which now many people of the nobility are starting to wear.
Luci is an accomplished swordsman having earned a handful of city fencing titles although recently, with the business of the Cooperation she has not been able to participate.
Luci is the youngest member of the Trade Council of Havere, and is often criticized for her youthful vigor but over the past 5 years of her membership, she has secured her seat and made herself an invaluable asset to the group.

Personal history

Luci was born to sail. Her father, a successful trading boat captain, taught her at a young age and when she was old enough took her along on short trading voyages usually to trade with the Sea Elves in the Western Isles. From her father and his crew, she learned to fight, to cuss, to swim, to fish, and to find a good deal.
Her mother doted on her daughter but abhorred that she was taking so quickly to the sailor life. So to counteract her husband's influence, made sure Luci was trained in all of the basics of Havercois lady-life.
In her early twenties, Luci's father gave her command of her own vessel. A year later, her father ship went missing on a trading mission to the Far East. Determined to find him she started on a five-year voyage to go find her father. She returned battered, heartbroken, with her galley full of treasure, but fatherless.
Looking for direction, the remaining boats working under the Rousseau flag made Luci the new shipmaster. Luci took the new position with great vigor, but was always distraught that the larger shipping outfits would outbid her for jobs or crowd the most popular shipping lanes. Luci decided to unite the other smaller outfits and convinced them to collectively share their own routes and trading ports.
Together, they formed the Rising Sun Trading Cooperation, and quickly rose to power. They emphasized finding the most unique and rare goods around the world and bringing them to Havere. While the older trading outfits where trading in staples, every new ship that the Rising Sun would bring to port would be full of wonders - which brought premiums - and profits.
At age 37 she petitioned that the Rising Sun should have a place on the council, and her petition was accepted by King Pierre Du Mer VIII. She has been the Rising Sun's representative ever since.

She won three consecutive fencing Havercois fencing championships during the Havercois Imixi games when she was 19, 20, and 21. She hasn't competed since.

Failures & Embarrassments

Luci regrets that her father's ship has never been found - and she partially blames herself for that fact. She also despises her responsibilities in the city, and longs to be at sea again.
