Acetic Vale

A wide, shallow valley with a turbelent history. The vale is crossed by spiderwebs of trenches, dugouts, earthen ramparts, pillboxes and bunkers. A persistent, choking chlorine and phosgene fog flows through the ancient fortifications and collects in the deep shell craters.

The dead litter the vale, where the acidic mud forms the shallow graves of unnamed millions. The only solid ground to be found here is by standing atop the remains of the fallen.

The river Yserne still exists within the valley, though saying that the near stagnant water is actually flowing would be a stretch, as chocked as it is with debris and the preserved corpses of the dead.
