Harras

When the Kutauri split into two groups, those who yearned for peace named themselves Harras. These centaurs, gentle at heart yet strong in spirit, dedicated their lives to healing the wounds of slavery—wounds both of the body and the soul. It was Takah, a mere filly at the time of the rebellion, who planted the first seeds of their culture. While Medi, the Father of the Free Kutauri, led their forces through blood-soaked fields, Takah sought a different path. She gave Medi his Name, hoping that the weight of such a title might temper his thirst for vengeance and guide him toward growth.

Traditions of Healing and Unity

In the centuries since, the Harras have cultivated a vibrant tapestry of traditions, each one a thread in the fabric of their culture. The Name-Giving ceremony is one of their most cherished events, a celebration of identity and community. Sweat Lodges, places of physical rejuvenation and spiritual cleansing, have become central to their way of life. Here, weary muscles find solace, and troubled minds find clarity.

From races across sunlit glades to weaving intricate tapestries beneath the forest’s canopy, the Harras have created a culture that speaks to their yearning to belong. Storytelling, with its power to heal and inspire, weaves their history into the hearts of every generation. Each tradition, whether ancient or newly forged, carries with it the promise of balance and personal growth.

A Haven for the Weary

Though not without its struggles—their economy is far from robust—the society of the Harras remains a beacon of hope. They have turned Banewood into a sanctuary where all asylum-seekers are welcomed, their pasts forgiven, and their futures nurtured. This safe haven stands as a testament to the resilience of the Harras, who believe that peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of understanding and harmony.

The Spirit of the Harras

To walk among the Harras is to witness a community bound by compassion and a shared commitment to healing. They preach the importance of balance, reminding all who listen that personal growth is the foundation of a better world. Their path is not easy, but it promises renewal, even in the shadow of Banewood’s darkest trees.

So, adventurer, should you find yourself in the company of the Harras, tread with kindness. Share your stories, listen to theirs, and perhaps you will come to understand that true strength lies not in the sword but in the bonds we forge with one another.
