Troll
A cruel, spiteful race, they despise all living things but harbour a particular hatred for the Fair Folk. Some legends claim they and the Faeries once made war on each other. Others suggest a Faerie curse left them vulnerable to the sun’s purifying light.
Whatever the truth, the accursed trolls linger in deep valleys and dig into caves under mountains and hills to escape the hateful light. In Balgrendia many have made their home in the swamps that cover vast swathes of the landscape.
A typical troll stands 10 feet tall and weighs 750 pounds. It has a stooped body, a bulbous nose, and a wide mouth filled with chisel-like teeth. Most trolls have patches of petrified flesh from brief encounters with the sun. They wear animal hides as clothing.
