Melnia Glowshale

At merely twenty two years old Melniawass the youngest Research Scout to be selected by The Astronomers. This is no small part due to the fact that she is a particularly skilled and powerful Brighteyes. Her parents are both Asrtonomers, and she grew up immersed in the world of Constellations and light. She was never content to stay in just one place though, having trouble even sitting still for any length of time. She shared this trait with her older brother, though he was not a Brighteyes, and was more than a little jealous when he joined the scouts and went off on adventures. He was ten years older than her though, and at sisxteen she was deemed to young, not to mention the added risk of her kind being hunted by the GBC.
She was nineteen when her brother was killed by a GBC patrol while out on a mission. His body was brought back by what remained of his team, and after the cremation ceremony Melnia put some of his ashes in a small vial which she still wears around her neck on a silver chain. She vowed then that she would dedicate her life to the pursuit of understanding the Constellations in the hope they would provide her with a way to stop the GBC once and for all.
She began training from that point on: immersing herself in her studies on botany which was another of her passions, honing her abilities with the help of the few other Brighteyes who were members of the astronomers, and learning as much as she could from any Scout willing to teach her. Three years later she was granted her request to join the Scouts. Her parents put up a bit of resistance at first, not wanting to risk losing their last child, but they eventually realised she would just be misearble if kept caged up in Seat of power. She was also an adult and capable of making her own decisions, but it was nice to have their approval in the end.
