Summer Stuff:
* Spend what time she can with Astra. Might need to answer some questions creatively. Em is perhaps a little clingy toward Astra, because she knows this is really the only hands-on mothering she will get to do. Plus she wants to understand her teenage-like daughter so that when the time comes for her new daughter to reach that age, she'll have a little more basis for connecting.
* Try to figure out where the woman needs to go. If her husband was abusive, then Emmeline would be happy to try to find her a new life in Cerisey.
* Visit with the Count. Make sure the visits are intimate. Backup! Just in case her pregnancy is found out, there must be reasonable assumptions as to whose it is. If she then has to convince him to let her take care of her daughter as she sees fit, then so be it.
* Ask for approval to have Wren instated as her sole lady in waiting. Attempt #2!
* I believe Em was to also place Wren's sister in a suitable role. Might need to revisit/remind me of the requirements. If it was essentially major-domoing stuff/household management stuff, shouldn't be hard to get her up to speed.
* Write a letter (via redcap) to Abigail informing her that Emmeline has located a lost House Diedne druid named Corbin. She may actually describe him as "Corbin the Long-winded" in her letter. She will note he is safe where he is in Faerie and that since it has been a long time, it's possible he might suddenly age and die if he returns. Maybe. Also, he's feeling pretty sore about House Flameau's "kill everything" policy.
* Write another letter to Joyere (also via redcap) informing her of the very same. But this letter will include details about Corbin's location near fey villages and (relative) distance and direction from Mara's domain. She'll ask Wren's assistance to make sure her details are accurate. Why do this? Because Magus Corbin is still technically a member of the Wizard's Guild and, after centuries in Faerie, likely has knowledge of extreme value to House Marinita. Emmeline will include a caution that it is... perhaps remotely possible this is only a fey reflection of the actual magus. However, even so he could still be a valuable source of information on the local Fey Otherworld. She will close by telling Joyere, "Come with stories to share and he will share in kind. Do NOT 'give'. Share. He's adopted fey deal-making, and I shouldn't like to test how strong his deals may be."
* Write a letter to Magus Alix that a wizard refugee from the inter-House war of 150 years ago has been located living in Faerie. Likelihood of him being one of the handful of Diedne diabolists is, in Emmeline's judgement, very low. Likelihood of him feeling acutely vengeful toward House Flambeau is very high. Likelihood of him surviving should he return to the living world is nil -- unless he secures significant support in the form of an unknown artifact or fey entity. Even so, she will inform Alix that Elemix and she put significant effort into assuring him the war was long over, times had changes, and the Houses involved were no longer the enemies they once were. However, Magus Corbin is nonetheless a former Wizard's Guild member that fled a War and the local Quaestor needed to be informed.
* Inform the Circle. She will gather the Uzec Covenant and deliver a statement that in pursuit of an entity on behalf of a Quaestor from Thalassa, a Diedne Magus Corbin has been located. Having fled to Faerie to survive a war within the guild some 150 years ago, he is unlikely to survive a return to this world. However, he is relatively nearby, if on another plane of existence. She will also inform the Covenant she intends to be away for fall and winter at Thalassa and would leave guidance of the Covenant to Magus Claire in her absence. She will ask for a volunteer willing to allow her (Emmeline) to dream them from time to time for updates, instructions, and news.
