That was some good fighting. I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't join in with the spars, but I was supposed to rest and recover after that last trip to the pony world. And at least it could give me some more fighting pointers.

In any case, the tournament had a lot of tough fighters, with some of the crew among them. Midnight just made sense, especially when I saw him in action, and pretty much everyone has heard about the stuff Royce gets up to. Corzipa seemed familiar... I've never worked with them, but I could swear I've seen them before. Castor and Pollux I remembered from Parliament City. Good to see they've gotten better at the physical stuff. The thing that really shocked me, though, is seeing Pound involved in the tournament. Back in the day, he never would have gone around into fighting tournaments.

...actually, thinking about it, he might have tried if someone got him pissed off enough, but Penny would have gotten in the middle of everything and stopped him from going that public. Either way, he got knocked out by Royce's apprentice. I'd be lying if I didn't say it shocked me. He was my boss. I was always loyal when he and Penny were in charge, but there was always that feeling of what he'd do if you disappointed him with a job. To be taken out by the intern Royce was training? He has to have gone even further than I thought since he got kicked from his top perch. Nothing else makes sense, honestly.

Anyway, this isn't about me telling stories about the good old days, or some fish crap. This is about the fights. Apparently in another one of Midnight's fights, we cheated. ...somehow. I still don't understand how that worked. Maybe Lio has a better idea. Whatever it was, it was enough to cancel out all of the crew's betting, and soon enough the announcer decided he wanted to kill the whole crew. I went to the Captain pretty much immediately to see if I was going to be needed to try a lightning strike or something on the guy. Thankfully, the rest of the crew managed to take him out, and they finished off the tournament.

Midnight lost to Royce in the finals. Shame, that. He has one heck of a fighting style, and I want to try myself against it later. Maybe see if I can do better against that than I did against Lio, now that I have some better ideas. I'll have to reach out to him later.
