Emergency Operations

by Nichol Trafford

Today ended up being a real good lesson in why it's so important to know where the airship is in an emergency. There was something about a small group heading out for a special mission, I think. The next thing I know, there's an emergency situation and we needed to head out to help them immediately. So we got as many people as we could and tried to get a flight plan. Thankfully, El Pea's been giving me some pointers on an emergency breach procedure, because I used that to get to the possible rescue point ASAP.

Turns out it was a good thing we went that way, because we came out in the middle of a battlefield and we ended up a target. We all got to work fast defending ourselves, and we managed to do well even while we pushed the ship to the limits and the engine almost failed. Right on cue, we ended up providing an escape route for Vatna, Lore, and just about all of Ol's adult family while these giants tried to spear the entire ship. It was quick jump to a small island from there, where I learned two things: first, this was a mission to try to protect a bunny village being threatened by those same giants. Second, it was about to become an evacuation mission, because we couldn't win against them. We were just about to start when... well, something happened with Tsoki. His eyes glowed, he looked panicked, and then he used some magical artifact to clown everything - including the stuff that those giants were launching at the village below. I'm not quite sure what happened, but whatever Tsoki did or figured out, it apparently worked because we were able to evacuate the village just in time.

Last I heard, the new people in Liminal were starting to get used to their new surroundings. That's the most you can hope for, really, given the circumstances. It wasn't part of my mission, but it didn't hurt it, either. And I have to admit, it is kind of nice to help someone caught in the crossfire like that.
