New world chapter 2: Brindol

We bid farewell to the couple on the ship after arriving in Brindol where we were stopped by the guards at the gate asking why we were here and what our professions were.
I gave the answer of Librarian which I technically was.
We all got into the city and we decided to take a break and head for the laughing Manticore inn to spend the night.
The inn was filled with many people and Adventurers alike.
We all spent the night and I asked Reeze if she had completed the activities I had set for here.
I failed to mention that Reeze had asked me for help in spelling words and asked if I could teach her bigger words in the future I agreed of course I'm not sure why maybe it was because she reminded me of myself when I asked Cyrus to teach me how to use spells.
Of course Reeze had not completed the tasks and from what I saw she was doodling on the worksheets prepared for her. I won't lie my feelings were slightly hurt but I'm sure she has her reasons.
We also came across a request wall at the inn postings of several jobs were on there and we each decided to take the day off today and take a job each, but we also decided to do one together before we set out.
Our group job was to remove an unruly adventuring crew from the The Stone Wyvern inn.
As soon as we got there I had to admire it, It was truly a sight to behold a real Wyvern petrified in the moments of combat it was remarkable no wonder this place got so many customers... well before the adventurers came.
I asked the bar man for information on the adventurers and these people pretty much people right out of a book who argued constantly about how much treasure they should all get.
Morbius bought us all drinks no alcohol for Reeze and I though it's not a good idea for us to be drinking, however the half orc grabbed all of them and drank them all spilling more than he drank.
Of course this started an arguement with who looked to be the bard and this gave me an idea.
I asked them which of them was the leader and of course they all thought it was themselves, I then said that the half orc was the one that appeared to be the leader.
The Half orc then tried to take a massive portion of the treasure this caused an arguement and the bard leapt at the Half orc and they started fighting rolling around on the floor like children spilling treasure everywhere.
What appeared to be a rogue was taking the treasure and I looked to the tiefling pointing out the rogue as he was gathering silverware from the floor.
I then said "Are you going to take that from someone like him?" Of course this would be a bad idea on my part as the tiefling cast a thunder wave spell and caught everyone but Reeze up in it as I was blasted through the window of the bar.
I lost track of what happend inside the bar and the next thing I knew the rogue was coming toward e severely slowed down so I tripped him up with my staff and put it too his chest... He then proceeded to stab me in the leg but I still held him down.
Reeze suddenly came out of nowhere and knocked the man clean out she then proceeded too hit me with a stick for no reason It really hurt and I woke up a few minutes later after being knocked out.
 
Morbius even discovered that the silverware that the adventurers had with them actually belonged to a nearby noble who we left to visit the reason being we needed gold otherwise we would not last long in this place.
 
I lost track of what happened in the mansion the books in that library were truly magnificent I do not even remember requesting a coffee but I had one but I was also being dragged out but my companions of course I was disappointed that I could not keep the book but I heard Reeze use one of the words I taught her and I was so very proud of her.
 
The pride soon fell when I saw Mordy stuck in a tree... I mean seriously a cat with wings gets stuck in a tree... How does that even happen? Of course we got him down and rested back at the inn
 
The next day we all split off Reeze going to deal with Ghouls and Morbius going to entertain a childs birthday party.
 
Me however I was to play the role of body guard to a wealthy merchant who said I was did not look like much, But I would have to do.
 
After being his personal luggage carrier I noticed a shadow of a hanged man in a shop window it was strange I swear I have read about something like this before.
 
I ran into the shop where the merchant was and he dropped his cake as soon as told him about what I saw and at that moment I could smell death as a woman with a noose around her neck came into the shop.
 
I confirmed my suspicions at the sight of this creature this was a revenant, A person met a cruel undeserving fate from a person or persons.
 
The only way I know of getting rid of a revenant is to let it have its target or wait until its time is up and it fades to the after life.
 
The merchant told me that he had killed an innocent woman over her being a witch which this would meet the requirements of becoming a revenant.
 
I felt disgust for the man I was protecting had it not been for my masters teachings I would have just let him die right then and there instead I cast fly on him and forced the revenant out of the shop and told the man to jump out the window surprisingly he did it but was still grabbed by the ankle by the revenant.
 
I grabbed onto the revenant myself and the next thing I knew we were over 60 feet in the air I told the merchant to fly down but the revenant lost it's grip on the merchants ankle and we both fell.
 
I somehow managed to over power the revenant forcing it to break my fall but then it suddenly disappeared.
 
I saw the merchant flying away over a roof top and disappear onto the roof as I ended the spell to try and let him down safely.
 
I did not get paid for that job I am done with that man anyone who would do something so unforgivable is someone I do not want to be work for or take his dirty coin.
 
We figured it would be better to press on the next day so we all acquired a horse and headed for the destination where the treasure was on our map that we received.
 
What comes next? Well I can assure myself it won't be a light at the end of the tunnel it is something a lot deadlier my reason being I had a strange nightmare last night.
 
In this dream I saw my companions and I on top of a snowy mountain during a blizzard and suddenly a giant demon with praying mantis like arms came at all of us and that's when I awoke.
 
My companions told me that they had similar dreams and Reeze showed us Arties journal showing that he had this dream before us.
 
Cyrus taught me never to ignore any dreams he believed some could be important to the past present or the near future and with what we have experienced I have no doubt in my mind that the same thing that destroyed our old world may be coming to this one too.
 
When the time comes will we even be ready? Nothing could stop them before what gives us a chance?
