In Hot Water

by Oliver Grey

Much has happened in the past week. It is difficult to know where to begin.
Tiberious had taken a stroll one early morning to trail the parade of people supporting that politician. He left without saying a word so I had assumed he got himself stuck in some nook or cranny in Elith’ establishment. Spent majority of the morning flipping tables and pulling out dressers hoping the mouse didn’t smother himself. But soon he retuned and informed us of what he was up.
Still can’t believe he went out in his feetie pajamas, the nerve of that mouse.
I also gave one of my blades to Brother Tarvin at the temple as well as 600 gold to make the blade a holy weapon that would rain down punishments on any undead or devil that would cross us.
(Hopefully I can get that sword back, given the current circumstances)
Later in the day Tiberious and Zik made a stop at the bank to, in a lack of better words, make a withdraw. A very lumpty withdraw and caught the attention of some of the local guard.
Unbeknownst to this, the rest of us were visited by Guard Captain Kramer who began asking questions about the whereabouts of Lord Zik. Obviously they’ve grown more suspicious of Zik and are trying to link him to the murders of the two slain legal men and the gold that was stolen.
I’m not very good at lying and Kramer got whiff of this and started asking more about Zik’s wherabouts and what our next destination was. I told him we were planning on going after the giant fish we saw the last time we were at sea.
Needless to say he could see through me, that’s when I started sizing up him and his comrades. Thankfully we were able to set sail before any blood could be spilled.

Well, until we were actually at sea.

A guard ship had trailed us as we made our way across the ocean. An intense storm had broke, forming this massive whirlpool straight down into the black abyss.
In what was both an incredible and absolutely terrifying show of power, Miss Persephone moved the whirlpool.
She moved the fucking whirlpool.
The guard ship never stood a chance, not a single cannon was fired.
That woman may very well be the most deadly member of this group. I certainly never wish to get on her bad side.
We made port on Casper Island, the opposing island to the island of Dirk. Immediately we were taken to what appeared to be the island’s legal headquarters and were individually interviewed.
Surprisingly, they also wanted to know about Zik, as well as everything we knew about Behmar Hold. From its forces to its hierarchy, and that they’ll need our services later in the near future.
Safe to say, this may or may not be a horrible idea and could result in us becoming outlaws.
I tried speaking to Zik to get his full story about what happened that night but he kept saying he had no involvement. Even with a Zone of Truth spell, I couldn’t get him to talk.
I know he’s not telling the truth, but hopefully soon he’ll be able to trust me and vice versa.
Only problem now is, how are we supposed to regroup with the others back at Behmar?
