Entry 2 - Saving Face for the Turtles

by Ashe

We awoke to Conrad calling out for help. It seems the Lizardmen decided to strike in the night. Figures, but we made quick work of them. Kevin did his best, but ultimately didn't do quite well enough. Many of his attacks missed. Yitoshk... well, he did what you'd expect him to. Go bat-shit crazy on the Lizards. Screaming and swinging and such. Conrad seemed to take a back-seat roll, I didn't see him do much so I'm not sure. As for Cybil, she summoned her spirit and started screaming. It didn't seem to be all that effective, just seemed like the Lizards were agitated. Me, I ran into the trees for cover, and began sniping the Lizardmen with my bow. Killed one of the ones Cybil was fighting, and before I could get the other, I noticed Kevin had been wounded. I decided to attack the one chasing Kevin, until it bolted too far. I then decided to turn back and finish off the last Lizardfolk, planting an arrow in the back of it's skull. I expected a little more from Cybil, but I guess the screaming did weaken them somewhat.

Yitoshk decided to hold one captive. He put it in a net, and stripped it of it's weapons. That's it. No wrist bindings, no de-clawing, nothing. We met a Tau'don named Baka who was actually quite nice, and also hunting these Lizards. He agreed to take us to our quarry in the morning. What happens, however, irks me. In the night, Kevin let the prisoner escape and gets chastised far too hard for it. I felt like going up one side of that stupid green bastard and down the other, but it would only stoke all the tensions Cybil's presence has caused. I'll definitely be having to take some action, though. To think they're holding Kevin responsible for YITOSHK'S prisoner, who YITOSHK captured with sub-par methods. I'll probably have a conversation with Kevin to assure him I back him up. As for Cybil, she decided to chastise my furry friend too, and HOO-FUCKING-BOY journal lemme tell you, I've never practiced self control more than today. Still, if I'm to enact my plans for Cybil, I have to stay calm. Engaging her any further will be pointless and reckless.

That evening, we made it to the cave where the Tau'don are currently residing. We meta bunch of them, including Xolo and Grr. I don't think that's his real name, but it's the only sound he makes. We also met Di'er (?) who is small, like me, and their "Elder" Xiopa (?). After an audience, Yitoshk bargained for us to take Grr back to Kasvaar, as Xiopa didn't seem too keen on letting him go, since he was still new. After some talking, Xiopa agreed to think about it in exchange for us stopping the Lizardfolk. I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention, still incredibly annoyed. I'm starting to question my loyalty to this group now, mainly Yitoshk and that angel-winged pretender. One thing I DID agree to, was helping them with their training. So, the next day at 7am sharp, Xiopa had us all pair with a Tau'don for training. I paired with Di'er, mainly because I wanted to ask him about his interesting weapon I found. Before our training could even begin, I heard a loud scream and a thunderous boom from the next room. That was Baka's room! I went to investigate and, lo and behold, Cybil had taken him down. I said nothing, as Conrad healed Baka and everything seemed to be under control. I'm going to have to work hard to keep my plan in order, I see.

After training, I took a bath and am now laying down. We leave at dawn with Grr to go storm the Lizardmen, I guess. Still, I have a strange feeling in my gut (and my head, I hit myself with that odd weapon). I hope my gut is wrong. Anyway, goodnight to whomever's prying little eyes are reading my journal. Don't let me catch you.~
