Entry 3 - So Concludes the Mission

by Ashe

I awoke in the dead of night to a strange, echoing scream throughout the entire cave system. I scrambled to get up, rushed out, to find Kevin and two Lizardmen. One of which was dragging Baka off! I drew my bow and tried to shoot them down, but with just being woken up, and that gods-awful screaming, I couldn't focus enough to get a clean shot. The lizard dragging Baka managed to run off, and I contemplated following. But there was one more, and I couldn't leave Kevin by himself. I managed to get in close to start swinging, but by the time I did, they... they killed Dyur (I think that's ACTUALLY how his name is spelled.) I couldn't stop myself from crying a bit. I managed to land one clean blow to one lizard, before Yitoshk and Cybil's... spirit thing came in. We finished it off, and went to meet up with Baka. Apparently the lizards came through the waterway, but since Conrad couldn't make enough waterbreathing potions for all of us, we decided to take the old-fashioned route and just follow the river.

It was a long journey, and everyone was functioning on very little sleep. Eventually, we came to this little clearing. We all wanted to rest a while, and Yitoshk said we could "rest when the job was done." Cybil surprised me by standing up for us, saying a quick rest would boost morale and be good for us. It's like for a while, she stopped being "Cybil Crownier, the former mage-slayer, the exiled hero" and she became "Cybil Crownier, proud Klif Company member." Maybe I need to study her some more, maybe we can be real friends. Anyway, there was a strange watchtower-looking thing with Lizardfolk on it. Yitoshk and Cybil decided to stay on watch, while Conrad and I scouted a nearby cave. We ended up finding treasure, and... well. We kept the gold for ourselves, and everything else for the party. Eventually, Cybil decided to say "fuck this," and went in for the attack. I wasn't really surprised, but since they taken several of the Tau'don, I was all for "carving a path."
And I was MUCH better in this fight. Everyone seemed to be.

After we killed the lizards, we all noticed an odd smell. We decided to investigate, aaaaand... well. Turns out "Grrr" was a gassy-frog-monster from the Abyss. Conrad took quite the beating, as did Cybil and Yitoshk. Luckily, that thing never knew I was there and I pelted him with arrows from the shadows. Some might call it cowardly, but I know what my strengths are. We ended up killing it, and saving Xiopa and Olo.

Kas gave us a small... interview, I guess? Said Cybil would be going on ahead with the next job, and that we'd be leaving within the next few days. Oh! And Olo ended up joining the company! He's absolutely ADORABLE! And he seems so genuinely nice! I'm really hoping he and I can become friends.
