Session 7: Beyond the Witchlight

Floating pavilions (gathering places where the Bullywogs take tea)
 
Cirian attempts to pick up gossip. The new king has been having some difficulties with the hag. (Everything of the King's is also the hags.)
 
Andra picks up information on an Alchemist's Tower. The king's guards have been injured or killed in the process of trying to take it over. Cirian finds out that this is another demand from the hag.
 
Bullywog in dark clothing standing in front. He shares that she is to be executed once the gallows are built. There haven't been many deaths under the rule of King Gloop the 19th the great and powerful. "Now, we will have a picnic day, it will be a good time for all." Gallows will be built in perhaps 2 days. Goddess Umberly
 
If we get the King's permission, then we will be allowed to see her.
 
We go back to the castle. We are let off in the garden area (where the harringon are setting up camp). Sir Talivar looks more like a kobold right now after the harringon have dressed him up. Kolby the Kobold is Sir Talivar's kobold persona.
 
Cirian tries to flirt with the harringon. Keaton makes patterns appear in the fire. Andra spends time talking to her bird. She names it Drake. Korashana is practicing and preparing for tomorrow.
 
We discuss tactics for the audience with the King the next day.

Cirian inspires Korashana.
 
King has several guardsmen and people attending him but not a full court. When we approach, he sends the servants away.
 
We chat and take turns asking questions back and forth. It's sensual. Here's the PG version and just my questions for him.
 
What is your relationship with Bavlorna? 'we rule together.'
How often do you and Bavlorna talk? Every 10 days with gifts.
The Alchemist's Tower. What the fuck is up with that? We have had some unexpected delays in clearing out the tower.
If you were to accomplish this feat.
My next meeting with her is supposed to have an item from the tower for her.
 
If we go to the tower, clear it, and gather the items that she requested, he could get us an audience with Bavlorna.
 
Unable to access (if returned) or killed. There is some sort of riddle asked of them. It changes day to day.
 
She seeks 6 stones: gems of some value.
 
Next visit to Bavlorna is in 2 days.
Prisoner will be hung in 2 days.
 
Personal tributes are valued more highly than monetary items.

We meet back up with the Harringon and make our way to the Alchemist's Tower.
 
Keaton gave Clapperclaw hair with sprouts of grass.
 
Cirian talks to Morgort. She's the only Bollywog who is working against the hag. She gives Cirian a brouche that acts as a symbol of the resistance.
 
Cirian only shares that she knew nothing that we didn't already know to Korashana but shares all with Andra and Keaton.

We approach the tower. In truth there are more. 80' sheered on top. There's a bridge connecting it to the second (~100' and sheered). The last tower is connected to the second by a bridge is hovering. The bottom half is broken away and the top half is floating. This one does have a peek.
 
There's an open archway. Cirian looks for people. There are none that he notes.
 
The ferryman brings the boat up. The Harringon bring their snails. They dismount and grab their weapons.

We enter the first tower. There's a pillar with a potato shaped rock.
 
The potato is actually a smol flying buddy. It's a kitten sized bulldog. They are the guardian but have no name. My master left temporarily (when the hag took over). The master is a great and powerful mage.
 
It's riddle: The person who makes it has no need of it. Coffin.
 
Bulldog tells us to touch the pillar. We do and appear in one of the towers.
 
We only have the illumination that we are carrying.
 
Catching glints of gold and hearing brrvbrrv sounds. There's a mechanical eyestalk that brrvs up, blinks, then brrvs down.
 
There are beings that are moving around and they aren't really paying attention to us.
 
We hear the rustling of books
There is light coming off the balcony.
 
We can occasionally see these creatures moving around.
 
Most books have to do with magical theory, arcane study, etc.
 
There central body looks like a bowl that's golden in color. A long mobile neck with an eye. Two long spider like legs with suction cup feet. It seems like they are organizing.
 
We go up to the second level. Opening that leads to a bridge and stairs that go up.
 
There are two stone lions. One is standing. The other is laying down like a sphynix. To cross the bridge we'll have to go past them.
 
Going upstairs, there's a dusty reading room. It looks like someone was in the middle of reading and left abruptly. The book is "A History of the Primordial Elements." It's thicc and has a lot of uncertain terms.
 
The glasses look to be in quite good conditions. Cirian puts the glasses on. He feels really charming all of the sudden.
 
\\ bathroom break
 
Keaton walks passed the lions. Then comes back when Andra and Korashana go to investigate the library. He casts detect magic. Most of the books are mundane. There are 3 scrolls with an aura of magic on them: Calm Emotions, Enhance Ability, See Invisibility.
 
The lions have a brown aura around them (transmutation).
 
The two lions spy us and go after Keaton and Cirian.
 
COMBAT ENSUES

Cirian, Andra, and Korashana go downstairs. This room smells like root. Wet plant matter and decay. We hear a skittering and several creatures moving away from the light. Skeletons inside the cages. The Skeletons within the cages are quadrapeds. They look to be hybrids. A cross between two separate animals. Reptiles with wings, serpents with limbs, etc.
 
We go back up to level 2. Most viles are decayed plant matter
Korashana, Cirian, Keaton find Jars of Powdered Silver worth about 50 gp (one each)
Andra finds a diamond worth about 50 gp
Everything we find is essentially a magical component
