Session 6: Beyond the Witchlight

Cirian and Andra take a gondola with pastries and such. Agdan Longscarf asks about Korashana. Cirian lies poorly that she is strongly considering Agdan's offer.
 
Cirian goes around and introduces himself to everyone. He notices the Bronx one is still around. She's not interested in chatting with Cirian.
 
She puts 5 gp on the table for a duel with Cirian. Oofda.
 
Cirian goes first and both attacks miss. Her first attack hits.

Cirian's next two attacks hit. Her next attack misses.

Cirian's next and final attack hits.

She gives Cirian the gold. I learned from my clan, where'd you learn that then? He says that he traveled all over from the circus and doesn't have a clan.
 
"You're an interesting one, Twinkletoes." He asks if she has seen Starr. She has not.
 
She returns to her snail with a little more respect for Cirian.

They spent most of their times in the warrens but when the water flooded them, they had to move. That's when Agdan took over.
 
One thing of note: Agdan has met the hags.
 
Another thing: Cirian told Bronx Heringon about our pursuit of the hags.
 
She tells him to shake hands, not bow.

Great Beast that holds much treasure. Black titan, black eye, white fang. Brimscythe. Tsu confirms that the Black Dragon is a problem.
 
Counter Option: He spends one day completing tasks for each person in his care. He says only if I promise to marry him.
 
Counter Option: He goes away for a week. Then, he'll have one evening to romance me.
 
Jabbeck and 3 other Herringon travel with us. Cirian will sit with them and ask questions. He asks how they feel about Agdan. They appreciate that Agdan gave them a way to survive.

Arrive at Downfall
 
The inn slogs up to the edge of the city.
 
There are buildings scattered along the highest points of elevation. All of the buildings are mostly mud in the base with hay mounded up into witch-like peaks.
 
They look like a child's version of a mansion/manor.
 
Each mountain peak has at least one of these structures.

Cirian trades the pariat for the gondola and 2 healing potions.
 
There are several hot air balloons floating around.
 
Salesman gets out and travels on stilts.
 
Sir Talivar joins us. The hag resides in the center court.
 
Agdan has been here several times, trying to ingraciate himself. Agdan spent time trying to woo someone from the courts here.
 
1 Bullywog with a charcoal mustache is the butler. 2 Bullywogs are lounging on a fancy gondola (one in a fancy dress, one in a broken monacle in a fancy tailcoat).
 
One with a victorian wig and heavy makeup peeks up. Archibald is the male. We don't know her name yet. Cirian asks of her name. The Countess of Bogbottom.
 
Gollop XIX - The King
 
The Soggy Court
 
We see a manor home, quite large with multiple add-ons.
 
They have the chairs that you can't sit in.
 
There are three others seated. Duchess of the Three Rocks, Lady of Stinkwater, Duchess of the Pickled Fly. She defers a bit to the Duchesses.
 
Cirians a curiosity, Keaton & Andra are ignored guests, Korashana is focused on.
 
Tarnished silver tray with little sandwiches & a pot of tea that smells strongly of murky water.
 
The Duchess of the Pickled Fly notices the Keaton's eggs. Keaton agrees to trade one for 50 gp. She cracks it open and drinks the egg from both sides.
 
Conversation consists of recent deaths. There's a lot of turn over in the courts. Current conversation is about the Green Barron who was boiled alive by the man who took his title.
 
Korashana and Andra notice that as the door is opening and closing, there is a younger/smaller looking frog person without a wig with a big pink bow affixed to the top of their head. They are clutching a journal.
 
Cirian engages in the conversation.
 
Victoria is so excited about the rabbit, Cirian. She thought it was Agdan. She's so sad that it's not him.
 
He had the eye of Genevieve. The daughter of the Duchess of Three Rocks. Genevieve married another.
 
Her journal is poems of love.
 
Gloop the 19th the great and powerful (everytime they refer to the king) has been on the throne for 23 days. Since the hags came to Prismeer, there have been 47 Bullywog leaders. They are very quickly replaced. Shortest time, 22 minutes poisoned while eating lunch.
 
"Oh! That pretender! ...brigand pretending at airs that he does not possess."
 
There have been 3 queens on the throne.
 
King Gloop the 19th the great and powerful takes care of (kills) anyone who seems like they could be trouble.
 
The King is extremely paranoid and anything that appears to go against him is met with death. The heads of the former leaders of the bullywog court and mounted on the sides of the bridge leading to the castle. The heads are able to talk.
 
We're lead out to the gondolas. A secondary servant comes onto the back of our gondola to help us get there.
 
Cattails, reeds, etc.
 
This building appears to be made of marble, covered in mud with algae growing over it.
 
The heads start singing as we pass them. Think frog choir.
 
Sir Talavar says that he'll stay back for this.
 
Keaton notices a crab guy with a scarecrow head peering over. Keaton talks to them. They deny that they exist. "I'm Clapperclaw. I'm waiting for someone." ... Agdan. He stole Clapperclaw's head. :( "I saw him here once." Wearing rainboots and rainjacket. It's carrying a sac with pieces of straw sticking out. "I was made here, by a bad person."
 
The Countess and Archibald whispers to the Bullywog who announces them.

Korashana tells the Bullywog everyone's titles: Count of Popcorn Cirian, Duchess of Willows Andra, Count of Light Keaton
 
 
On either side of the dais are bollywogs with swords on their waists.
 
The King has a crown topped with a Water Lily. He has a big collar with clothing trimmed in gold. Hand rested on a crocodile. Several strings of pearls around his neck. The crocodile is slowly wagging its tail back and forth.
 
The King does take notice of us. He ushers the Count and Countess away as we approach.

No talk of people dying. Conversations are all incredibly light.
 
We are given accomodations.
 
Cirian chats with Jabbeck
 
He travels around the city: area for creation of these air balloons. Large structure devoted to this process. One area looks like a fire damaged the structure.
 
The air balloons would need to be refilled at this location. We can speak with Duke Ickrind
 
Cirian sees a female (or slight male) bullywog inside wearing a sircoat. Morgort. She was a knight but is now awaiting justice for helping a prisoner (Sir Talivar) that was important to the hag escape. Wigglewog flew the air balloon, Morgort got him out of the prison.
 
There's an airballoon made of a stormcloud attached to a building. The sign hanging out of it says "wonderous wares and fair fares."
 
Clapperclaw asks for a head with eyes and a mouth.
 
We head towards the stormcloud.
 
The inside is more like an antique store/thrift store.
 
We hear two voices in unison greet us. "Welcome to Wondrous Wares!" They're perched on top of the desk with dark cloaks with pronounced noses, gray skin, and pointed fingers. They have two massive toes at the bottom of each foot. Each are about 3' tall.
