Two tied up children were rescued, they'd ben tied up by their parents.
Their parents were up in the church building for some kind of 'right'
Long green sea weedy robes & a scimitar, now unconscious & tied up by Captain Pauly
Ship bells ringing in the distance
The party is ambushed by many of the seaweed wearing cultists, all coming out of the surrounding buildings and trees
The children mention "Oldeman Ritter"
When questioning the cultists:
So you're here for the festival? "It's our town fool"
Karu implies we are sent by the 'big guy' who is meant to protect them
The villagers name him as Father Dagon and asks if we are Father Dagon's chosen come to save them
Father Dagon is an octopus/fish, many red eyes and fangs, 50ft tall and a demon known as the Prince of the Depths
Makes deals and accrued power to rise to this position of princedom
Karu: What have you completed?
"The harvest festival went well every year, the outsiders should be drowned by now, a fest to your doorstep."
They are feeding outsiders every year and sending them to the depths
Priest Sharallan, says he will bring treasures from the depths and imbues them with power for performing this harvest festival
They perform a right under his name
Karu: Where is Sharalan? They have all gone to the church
Yama "What happens if you fail?"
The bell tolls 3 times, if the right is not satisfied, the townspeople all become mindless.
Oldeman Ritter is the Mayor, and keeps his valuables in the chapel
All the gifts from Father Dagon are also kept in the chapel
As the man begs and pleads at Karu there starts to be a thrum coming up from the ground into our bodies. The man starts convulsing, Yama throws water on him an it starts steaming off him. Cillian sends the dog to finish him.
From a medicine check Yama finds; his skin was starting to split and finds new pointy teeth, his hair falling out etc.
The party drops the children off with Mr Thomas, and head up the hill towards the Church
Mr Thomas worships Lethander, the god of the morning sun.
