3rd Amerysday of High Winter, Second Age 1853: The rest of the holidays rolled by without a hitch—plenty of feasting and no more surprises, just the way I like it when I’m catching my breath. Got my head clear and my gear ready for whatever’s next.
Aelorna got word from Nyvressa —she’s planning to break free when Nyxthranis sends scouts to poke around our town, checking how their schemes are playing out. That’s a chance we can’t miss. I’m itching to see some action come of this.
4th Amerysday of High Winter, Second Age 1853: It was our birthday today. Zhyrissa was the only one to visit us. Outside of the council she is the only one who knows our situation. I am amazed that she continues to stick with me, though perhaps it's the relaxed nature of our relationship to keeps things from becoming too strained.
5th Respitesday of High Winter, Second Age 1853: Selestiel, Malakar, Grikz, and Horatio took off to intercept the princess. No sitting around debating—they’re out there getting it done. By the evening of the 5th Seojungsday, we spotted the Nyxthranis scouting party. Our crew moved fast, snatching the princess out from under their noses while their scouts slipped away into shadows. Clean work, even if I wasn’t there to land the punches myself.
They didn’t give up, though. They’ve been prowling around for days, using shadow magic to stay slippery. One got nabbed but wriggled out of any binds like it was nothing. They’re a pain, but it’s the kind of challenge that keeps me sharp. I hope Aelorna has an idea how to keep them in one place, or at least has the sense to ask for advice from those who might. Isenara is already making some designs. I’m ready to hunt them down if they stick around too long.
1st Respitesday of Winter's End, Second Age 1853: I think I am enjoying this role as a treasurer more than I thought I would. My agents have been collecting "service fees" from the citizens, making sure nobody is hiding any wealth from our Lady, and trades with our neighbors have also been bringing in the resources we still lack.
