Danger Room?

by Jerry J. Vahn

So, Socrates is trying to upgrade the Danger Room simulator. Six of us join the room, Lilliana, Dragon Lady and the Hot Shot on one team, Maximum Resistance, Shamrock, and me on the other.

Max turns the three of us invisible. I rush out and around the center obstacles and there standing on items are Dragon Lady and Lilliana. Perhaps, our lunch date colored my choice of targets, so I throw lighting at Dragon Lady. Perhaps that wasn't the best choice of attacks. I really shouldn't be that predictable. I have a tendency to lead with that.

Anyway, the shot strikes and sends her for a loop. That was the good news. Why did I use that attack? It helped Lilliana strike out with her spirits. They pack a punch. They stopped me in my tracks, making my head spin. It's a good thing that I'm as fast as I am, as I was able to recover from that before Dragon Lady could recover and attack. She leaps at me and misjudges my height and lands just behind me. The Hot Shot steps out from behind the box that Lilliana was standing on. She starts to level her rifle at me. Not a good thing, she's a good shot.

I rush over there and grab her gun from her hands. The look on her face is priceless. I run around the corner to drop the gun when several Destroids materialize in the room.

Ok, I thought the plan was to 'knock' the others out. I don't like Destroids. I rush over and punch one of them just showing up. I try something that I've been working on and find a way to vibrate my hand in such a way as that it strikes the Destroid in such a way and to limit the armor it is made of to protect it. It flies back against another obstacle in the room. Before it can really reorient itself, I throw another lightning bolt at it.

That was the best choice I could make. It blew up.

I try to contact Socrates, but there is only static on our communicators, and he doesn't respond.

We were all able to take out the Destroids, as Socrates powers down the simulation.

This is very concerting. Socrates did not program any Destroids in the simulation.

So, do we have a mole in the team, or is there some weakness in our security that all of our coming and goings has shown Destroyer.

Great, just something else to worry about.......
