Session 6 (1/10/23)

The group leaves the room with the mosquito demon and enters the room with preserved creatures in jars and one empty jar (about 4 tall). As Crystal walks to the back of the room, 4 hands leap from their jar onto her. They quickly dispatch the hands, leave the room, and run into a young drow man in armer. He introduces himself as Cal (Calontel Helvain). He lived near Matreaus and was looking for him.
 
They enter a room that looks like a chemistry lab. Shomari finds 4 clay figures about 8 inches tall that are homunculi. They enter another room with weapons and fighting instructions and a broom that attacks Sacha and is easily defeated. They enter the library and are attacked by a booknado. They find the 3rd of 7 books needed to exit the plane. They exit the door at the end of the hall which leads to a patio. The longer they are outside, the more they feel uneasy. Next they enter a clean kitchen with 2 winged short people who offer to serve. They are named Cumin and Coriander and made by Fistondia and Freyot. They have not seen their makers for a looong time. They were ordered to never touch the books. Two important facts about homunculi: 1) they can only exist while their maker is alive, and 2) they cannot talk.
 
Harley enters the dinning room and gets attacked by a mimic chair. It almost kills Harley before he transforms into a badger, and they finish it off. They move upstairs. Crystal goes in the attack but sees nothing very interesting, she calls for help. No one response. She’s more upset than she lets on. They enter a room with dancing lights and find another book. There are also sun and stars depicted. They walk through the door and find an illusory night sky with 5 telescopes and a crystal ball in the room. They use these to open a non-so-secret door. Next they enter a room with a chained bookshelf and one book on a desk in front. The books attack the group. In the middle of the battle Harley shouts “Give me LIBERTY” which opens the portal out. They finish of the bookshelf before Crystal dies and choose to explore the rest of the house before going through the portal. They find a room with swords that look like they would attack us and an unremarkable bedroom. Afterwards they left through the portal.
 
Immediately after re-entering the room, Shomari hears “You are needed here” in his head in a caring voice that is telling him to stay in this group of people. Crystal’s arm births a small, metallic, spikey, creature who says, “You’ve been blessed by Fa’te (pronounced fate). Sacha fall unconscious, re-enters the dark place with the well, and hears a voice that says, “take the plunge.” He dives into the well, swimming deeper and deeper. In the well, he finds a pulsing orb of light. He hears a voice (multiple voices on top of each other) that says, “your family has always been there for me, now I will be there for you.” He takes the orb into his chest. He feels the spirit of Via inside him. The group sees Sacha’s body writhing on the floor and changing in appearance. Shomari and Cal scream at the craziness and guards enter the room and accuse them of killing Matreous.
 
Session 6.5 (1/24/23)
Matreous was stabbed by an imp. The quest paper led them to a divination tower in the Arkentyl (magic) district. There is a tower for each branch of magic (we passed lots of legally sanctioned zombies). Everyone got a boon - Crystal chose the Caustic Scimitar after being forced to not choose an emerald by an unheard voice. They are also given a mansion and asked to stay in Vaicross for reasons.
