Session 9 (3/7/23)

Harley has just finished making food after the meeting of the historical society at the tap room. It’s a grey mushroom soup with glowy bits. It suddenly shifts to chunky red multiple times. He feels the urge to go somewhere with the soup. He starts seeing his surroundings shifting to a different appearance. He hears a voice from another room asking him to “come here, bring [omitted] the stew.” When he walks toward the voice, the entire surroundings change to a stone/stained glass aesthetic. There’s an older, light-brown skinned woman who acknowledges him before being slammed in the face with a mace by a man with no face, long ears, an dragging limbs. He rushes Harley and chokes him against the wall. At this time the rest of the group enters the mansion and sees Harley suspended in air. Azora uses magic to kind of see the creature. Shomari attacks it; it drops Harley and runs. Harley’s surroundings shift again, and he can’t see the group. A table and chair fly toward and hit Sacha. The group continues to try to attack the creature semi successfully. Shomari wakes up Harley who casts Fairy Fire so the group can see their opponent. The group soon dispatches the creature, but Harley’s sense of unease does not abate.
 
After the battle the creature disappears, and Sacha, Shomari, and Garnet can’t remember it. Patience can remember. They take a short rest. Afterwards, they decided to continue to look for the crystal in the slums. On the way, they ask Sacha about his family since they control some farms where the disappearances are happening. He says that the group should not approach his family, but he will try to talk to them for the group.
 
Shomari asks a child were the mage fights are happening. The child leads them to a part of the slums called Scorlast Groove. There are more mushrooms here. They stop at a unnamed building with a large orc guard, Bem, a the front. Azora convinces the guard that they are here for the fights. When the guard gives the password to let them in, Azora can hear it, but the others cannot.
 
They find another orc, Lem, who Garnet convinces they are here to see Noctia. He "gem calls" Larvon who approves and sends them on 10 more floors down. When they find her, Noctia has been horribly tortured. No one else is in the room at the time. She tells the group that Larvon now has the crystal. She is under contact but has not made enough money and needs 375G to be free. If Larvon dies, the contracts will be null. Also, if the contract is destroyed, she would be freed. Garnet is not sure if freeing her is in their best interest. But they decide that they need to get Larvon’s attention since he now has the crystal. To do this, they decide to enter Azora and Sacha (Jumbo Shrimp) in tomorrow’s competition.
 
They go back home where Patience talks to Nickelknight. He finds that Fa’te has known Patience since his birth and his mom before him.
 
Shomari starts praying, the temperature drops, and an image forms of a male and female figure holding hands. They are looking at each other, and they resemble Shomari. Shomari reaches out and hears their life story. A feather glowing with incarnum energy appears, and he hears “It’s okay my child” in a familiar voice.
 
Voice: “You know who this is. Stop acting otherwise.”
Shomari: “Who’s there?”
Voice: “The most noble always come to me. You have always been mine since you were born.”
Shomari: “My lady? Is that you?”
Voice: “…”
 
 
FCD Tapp room:
The bartender had to chase out a group trying to sacrifice a goblin in the back. No gain or loss for the day.
