Emeros' Challenge

I finnaly snapped out of the haze after we stopped for camp. Even still I wasn't particularly feeling motivated to do anything so I just decided to laze about inside the Tiny Hut that Alroy created. The whole world seemed to wake up tho and started moving. After awhile we could hear something big coming this way that made Blu worried. I take up stance like her after Faena says that the fallen was coming this way. Not a minute later this giant serpentine thing that reminds me of the depictions of the gods if they were made of vines slithered through. It said something in draconic as it slithered to a tree and seemed to absorb into it. Looked like it was attacked by the gaping wound in it's side.
Not a second later a shadow wolf with six eyes and stood as tall as I am came through he forest. It say how it lost a meal and found six snacks in Slyvan. It was hoping for a challenge. Rose charged the thing and I activated Blu's collar and followed suit being on edge after a FREAKING demigod came though. After I changed into a true bear I remembered that this type of creature hunts for sport and challenge of other intelligent creatures, oops. Eh they were strong and I would yield if it got too bad. Well, before Blu could get in there it said, "Cower you cub." and Blu seemed to get scared and ran off a ways. It then taunted me saying I hunt with lesser creatures and now I would hurt alone. With that it got the better of me nearly tearing my shoulder off and drug me into the woods. With Quinn's divine help I managed to break it's grip and started to wrench it's jaws apart before it countered by biting down and pulling me to the ground again. It continued to taunt me as it said that it would take these paws. At this point I was going for one last move before giving in, but I wouldn't need to as Rose stepped in. With a 1,2,3 she slammed the wolf with that shifting hammer of hers and a loud crunch and a yelp was heard.
The wolf yielded to us and I allowed my rage to subside and shifted back exhausted and hurting on the ground. He helped me to my feat and I give the brief explanation of his motives to the others now that I can speak again. He mentioned how he was interested in us do to the magics we used to travel and the fact Alroy was a human. After working with him and Rose for awhile I tend to forget they are rather rare. He did go on to praise us as worthy opponents for his hunt. Quinn started a heal aura thing he mentioned in the cart during travel, helped a ton for me and I'm sure the wolf. He finaly introduced himself as Emeros and he has hunted these woods for 30 odd years and was bored of the dragon. His den was east of here in the forest somewhere and even had a mate out west somewhere. If we ever wanted a rematch to howl into the wind in my bestial tongue.
He thanked us for the fun and left as Quinn kept up on his healing. Quinn complained a bit about the cold as Blu seemed to wander back dazed and confused as to what jus happened. I did what is the best for the cold, and sandwiched the birdman between Blu and I. After all of this we went back to were the camp was and Alroy did a little ritual to the gods to summon another Tiny Hut. I offered anyone looking for warmth to join the bearpile.
In the morning after feeling better, I went out with Blu and found some more apples. We set out shortly after and about half way through the day came across a very curious thing. A green pack just above the snowy hill and a halfling the same size of it under it up to his navel in snow. It was incredibly surprised to see us roll up as we are soundless on this magic. We offered a ride, but I guess the magic was at capacity, but I asked if he had ski's at all. Turned out he did have a rather large shield well, as large as him. and handed a rope to Rose for a tow. We had a nice conversation while he was drug along behind us. Mako was in leather armor, had copper hair, blue eyes, tattoos up to his neckline, with a pick and a trident on his pack. He was on his way to where we were headed to see his cousin after 3 years. The most curious thing about him is he managed to boil his tea, mix ingredients into it, carve an apple, and maintain a conversation and eye contact with us while on this sled. He offered us some tea, but Rose and I just lifter our flasks, Alroy seemed agreeable for some and the halfling floated the teacup all the way to him in front. He explained that he has lived on the sea for the last 22 years. He'd been on every coast but the forbidden north at this point. He even had seen Emeros as a pup way down near Naan. He had a pack full of hallucinogens' at the time and that's what let him get away.
