A lot has happened since Zhar. Urope cancelled our poorly planned payday, though I have faith that we'll still come out ahead. Nobody lost any body parts this time, so that's a start. I recovered the holocron, and was able to activate it rather easily. Inside I found a manifestation of who I was able to identify as Exar Kun, though he was in a sort of trace. Apparently not the gatekeeper, but rather a shard of the man from ages past. The true gatekeeper did not reveal itself, but spoke to me nonetheless. It seems this holocron dates back to even before the old Republic, and contains something from possibly the first of the Sith, though the spirit was unwilling to even hint at, require a 'piece' of me, which I have no plans to do unless I have some idea what I'm doing. The crew - and Doc for that matter - won't like it but I may find it necessary to keep this in my possession. I've considered the possibility the entire device is ultimately a trap considering how little effort it took for me to activate it (for me, I'm sure a random librarian on Coruscant would be clueless). We'll see, I have a month to research, which I intend to do. Speaking of research - Silhara and her 'child' need to be studied. I think Grooda's impending birth may be something unique in the galaxy, there's a reason it's happening so close to me. Perhaps a trip to Devaron is in order - the temple of Eedit is a center of robust biologic research.
Vestar was interesting. We got into standard shenanigans for us, with the except of the enemy leader. She reeked of the dark side, though seemed to have trouble wielding it in my presence once I revealed myself. Perhaps an ancillary side effect of the deathstick derivative she seemed to have. While she herself was somewhat pathetic, her forces were still too much for us, but fortunately the Force (and a tracker) had led Urope to our rescue. He was generous, all things considered. Sentinels are all rough around the edges, and he clearly doesn't trust us, but for some reason I feel our relationship will turn around in time.
We did our first heist in at least half a year - and I got another puzzle piece in what I'm calling the Great Galactic Conspiracy. So far I know the Trade Federation is somehow involved, as are Damask Holdings and the new Republic military. All of those organizations are massive, and I have nothing to else to go on. Time, and the Force, will tell.
I've also been poring over the ancient information and adapted some of the science to my food prep ritual (though with more positive Lightside emotions rather than the yearning for dominion over my meal). By tapping into the same mechanism I use to mend wounds, I can restore some of the freshness to all of my ingredients, enabling me to make fantastic meals otherwise impossible in the middle of a hyperspace journey on a ship this size. I've done a few test runs and plan to serve for the others this evening.
