Big show, small mission, institutionalized prank. That was this mission. At least I got paid a couple hundred gold coins but damn. Didn't expect lord Byron, leader of the Luminaries, to basically send us on a test mission. By us, I mean Jel, porcelain in skin color now, White Sun, who seems to have a more cheerful demeanor now, Leo, sinking her depression with hot chocolete since she cant get drunk ever since she started glowing, and Mushroom. She's still the same.
Honestly the gold is nice and all, got a small armory of weapons and all that, but the lord's extensive study is more attractive to me as a reward. That map they had also looked pretty nice. Right. Anyway. The mission. After meeting with the lord's council of a Tortle, some gloomy looking human, and some other person I don't remember, we were to go to Tolteca, find a mystical creature that can contain the "ancient magical structures with ancient power to save the world", also known as the Obelisks which everyone knows about by now, and get the creature's shell. It was a snail with many flail like heads. Plenty of stone elementals were attached to it for some reason which jumped off during the battle and started fighting us with it but it went fairly well. I'm actually pretty proud of that one. From the top of the cave housing the village we were trying to save a hundred plus feet up, Jel basically dropped me onto the snail and with one old swipe, boom, gone. Snail was dead.
Yeah it hurt on the landing but not as much as I thought it would. All these missions with chaos nearby though is really taking it's toll on me though. I'm getting magical or something. By channeling chaos or whatever it is, it seems that I can put a lot of power into my attacks. An interesting phenomenon but not one that I find interesting to invest my time in. I'd rather figure out how to smith properly if I'm honest. Finally skilled and strong enough to do so.
The whole mission after the snail died was revealed to be a simple simulation by the council. That man in black and the blue dragonborn (I just remembered), summoned the monsters to see if we can handle future missions. Turns out we can. Aside from that the place we went to really sucked. Hot and dry and unfun. Looking back on it the best thing was either killing the snail or flying thanks to Jel. Let's go with flying. I should ask them to cast that on me again. That was... really fun.
