Kanrou was the Elder of the village Darnell until she died in The Breaking.
While Kanrou was known for being much more blunt and strict, the residents in Darnell had appreciation for it, as it is often seen as needed to survive the colder snowy weather.
Over the years, she had learned to be a touch more softer, particularly towards those from the other two villages.

A former tracker under the guidance of her uncle, the Elder at the time Morana saw her can do attitude and straight talking as ideal for what the village needed. She became apprentice to Morana soon after becoming an adult.
