What little Taggart says is gruff, to the point, and seldom unnecessary. He has worked the trade route between Rathgar and Drakkar for nearly two decades and now that his sons have joined the business, has finally gotten to the point where he is saving some silver. He's not likely to part with it willingly.

Travelling Merchant
Gruff and sparse with any sort of pleasantries, Taggart never liked life in his home city of Rathgar Instead of apprenticing as a blacksmith, he broke his mother's heart and set out to earn enough to buy a wagon and travel the Hinterlands. Over the years he has built a small trading company that now employs both of his sons as he ekes out a living selling pots, dishes, spices, clothing and other city-made commodities to the villages of Azermathia's interior.
The years have been hard and taught him that trust is not something to be given lightly. Fiercely independent, he has resisted the Merchant's Guild's efforts to recruit him and expand their influence southward. He has similar feelings about the Mercenaries' Guild, but a few run ins with unemployed mercenaries in Drakkar have left him splitting his guards - hiring guild members when in the Kingdom and then seeking local talent in the Hinterlands.
