Session0103

General Summary

After sleeping at The Bachelor's Servant, Ryleigh Alastair heads to Seirixori Iscitan's room to talk. Gunnloda Frostbeard lets her in and gets dressed, leaving the two of them to talk.   Ryleigh explains that she's feeling lost and conflicted in Ascus and wants Seirixori to help her make decisions. Seirixori asks Ryleigh to help keep an eye on Gunnloda as well, because she thinks that her weird magic/black eyes might be tied to her emotional state.   Ryleigh then gathers the rest of the group in her room so her presence doesn't upset the patrons downstairs. The group discusses whether they should split up and allow Ryleigh and Seirixori to continue looking for The Moonborn while the rest of the party heads back to relative safety in Vyon.   The discussion turns into an argument and Seirixori asks Ryleigh to step outside and for Gunnloda to keep her company. She confronts Urrak D'Akshi about her... confrontational demeanor, but then Seir gets so upset she nearly anger-shifts and has to leave the room. Sariel follows Seir, watching her from the doorway.   Meanwhile, Gunnloda and Ryleigh have a brief discussion about Ascus and being afraid of the past. Urrak comes in to apologize and let them know that Seir stormed out. Ryleigh starts to push past Urrak to go after her, but Gunnloda calms her a bit.   Everyone heads downstairs to look for Seir and call for a do-over of the discussion. Sariel and Ryleigh share a chat about trusting the people you work with and avoiding the impulse to self-isolate.   Once everyone's back in the room, Ryleigh explains the situation again. She explains that the guards are dangerous, that nobody should discuss that they are looking for the Moonborn, and that the murders of Moonborn lookalikes might be state-sanctioned. She describes the red and gold uniformed elite guards- the Sunguard- and that if they pick a fight with a Sunguard, they're on their own because Ryleigh won't risk the lives of the others in a fight with them.   The group leaves Arolis to head south. Along the way, during a break, Gunnloda and Seir talk about what upset Seir that morning, talking about Urrak's tendencies to exacerbate the problems they have. Seir also describes the differences between Ascus and where she grew up in Ardabeh.   The group sleeps in Burrafirth and gets on the road again where a group of armored humans on horseback followed by their unarmored attendants. The lead knight calls for them to stop and rides ahead to speak to Ryleigh, assuming that she is also some sort of knight with her own attendants. He asks if she'd like to join their group in spreading the Light, but she declines, explaining that she's on her way to the temple in Aston.   They part ways amicably, and Dawnguard continues to Green Paladin's Fire in Aston.
