Revelations, opportunities, and a change in scenery seemed to almost entirely drown out the real reason the Wanadead had come to the Hydrix Synod. Although Eliza's Trial was to begin tomorrow, it felt like one of the least important things happening on the Peaks of Uk-Boothaka after their conversation with Ambassador Renaurd. With night having fallen and the group finally being able to take a rest, the fate of their future seemed uncertain. Unbeknownst to the Wanadead, Dawn would mark 9 months since they met in Alvani. It seemed as if Destiny had beckoned such an important day transpire on this anniversary. However, Destiny's hand is not always one to deal on the side of justice. The Wanadead would need to be vigilant if they plan to come out on top.
After a few uncommon days of rest, The Wanadead were contacted by their old acquaintance, Grand Mirron Kiora Dweliss. Although Arsenius was still recovering from the process that regenerated his lost leg, the party knew they could not ignore her summons. Truth be told, the Wanadead and Kiora had not parted on the best of terms, so for her to be contacting them again, they knew it must be important. It seemed their intuition proved correct, as they were not being summoned by just Kiora, but rather by the Hydrix Synod. For what you might ask? Well, to speak out as witnesses, at the Trial of Eliza Raven-Wing.
After a brutal fight with Dane, the Wanadead came out victorious and finally ended the life of one member of the Neo Bandit Syndicate. However, this victory could not be fully celebrated, as Arsenius had had his left blown off during the battle. Needing a place to rest, and wanting to check up on their ally, Garvish, the Wanadead made their way to the Armoury. Unfortunately, upon discovering Garvish, it was too late to save him. Now, as they bid fair-well to a dear friend, the Wanadead have only been given more reason to stop Hector. With this conflict brewing, the Wanadead will need to decide how involved they are going to be, and whose side they will be on.
After consulting with their allies, the Wanadead decided that their best move was to see what was going on in Meteorite's Meadow. Although they had been told by Melas that the Neo Bandit Syndicate had taken up residence in the Armory, they did not expect it to be to such a degree. Now, with Dane seemingly commanding the men stationed at the Armory, the Wanadead is intent on finishing off this member of the Neo Bandit Syndicate. However, as to what ripples this act will cause, and the fate of their ally Garvish, is unknown.
Now back in Kadesh, with the fiasco that was the Aqueduct adventure behind them, the Wanadead rest off a long adventure. Even though they had only been gone for a few days, life in Kadesh can change in a matter of minute. Thus, the Wanadead will have to figure to what they have missed while they were doing Daxton's dirty work. Juggling that on top of their new allies and potential new member of the group, the Wanadead will need to work extra hard if they are going to be able to keep up with the rapidly changing landscapes of Kadesh. What new mysteries, machinations, and merriment will the Wanadead face now that they have returned to Kadesh? Only Daxton may know. However, one thing that must not be forgotten is, that Kadesh, has become a City of War.
The Wanadead and Co. were safe and the Cult could no longer chase after them. Thus, they began their journey into the structure. After Dwin revealed some secrets he had been hiding and Fid revealed her true identity, the Wanadead decided that they needed to make it to the beacon and find the other group that was helping them. As they explored the structure, they uncovered some very unique magic items. They also discovered what this place potentially was, the lost Dragonborn city of Mogkuaan. After that reveal, they also stumbled upon what looked to be the foundation of Draconic language. Malthek and Dwin wanted to copy it down so the party took an hour of rest to do so. During this time, Aeolus and Eirkoris attuned to their new magic items. This revealed to Eirkoris that they might be in over their heads, as a Dragon was detect nearby through the use of his armor. They eventually found the others, took a rest, and then plunged into the depths below, only to find what they had feared.
The battle raged on further as the Wanadead and co. clashed with the other group helmed by the Wings and the Arrow of Asmodeus. After victory shifted sides multiple times during the fight, all seemed lost as the members of the Cult's side who flew away at the start of this battle made it to the beacon and seemed to have activated it, creating a ball of force that expanded all around the structure. However, as this wall of force brushed over Aeolus, it did no harm her, in fact it protected her. Seeing this, Dwin commanded everyone to run into the protective forcefield. With some hesitation and a close call with Malthek, everyone made it into the field, and although the Arrow had revived the Cult Sorceress and the Wings had not been killed, it seemed that the field was keeping them out and they could no longer harm or follow the Wanadead. Now, the Wanadead can explore this structure in peace... or at least that's how it seems.
The race has begun. After many days making their way through the tunnels of these ruins, the Wanadead and co. take on their biggest challenge yet, getting to the structure first. Being neck and neck with the other team, they arrived at the entrance at the same time. This led to a battle with the enemy group, who included the Wings and the Arrow of Asmodeus. A battle hard fought and still raging, the Wanadead seem to have gotten the upper hand. However, members of the opposing team are currently in the process of ascending the spires and making their way to the beacon like structure on top. In addition to that, the Wings of Asmodeus is still kicking and ready to reap. This battle is far from over, and just getting interesting.
After a treacherous night, the Wanadead and co. gathered their things and prepared to say good-bye to the ones they lost. Fortunately, Eirkoris and Lucien proved to be alive, having escaped the specters, and made their way back to the group. After journeying through the ruined structure, the party came across what looked to be experiment chambers and laboratories. They decided not to meddle with what was in the room. After journeying for a few hours, they made it to a huge door, upon opening it, it continued to lead further, and further down and away from Kadesh. After almost 4 hours, the group saw an exit and entered into a massive crystal chasm with a huge, city-like, ruined structure located at its center. As the party watched the rhythmic pulses move through the crystal walls towards the city, Aeolus noticed there were other entrances to this chasm. In fact, one of those entrances seemed to have people near it. Upon this realization, the true race began: the race for the ruin.
The Wanadead and co journeyed into this long-forgotten structure, they began to potentially uncover the identity of the race that lived here. After exploring the, to all appearances, abandoned structure and discovering what appeared to be some sort of Draconic language, the group decided to bed down for the night. With the restrictions of Tiny Hut, Eirkoris, Thand, and Lucien were forced to sleep elsewhere. Just before sleep overtook everyone, the crystals that were scattered around the room began to glow. As this happened, a legion of spirits began to flood out from deeper into the structure. The ones protected by the Tiny Hut had nothing to fear, however, those on the outside were quickly met with the wrath of the specters, who upon closer look resembled strange Dragonborn. Thand was slayed in front of the Tiny Hut and the fate of Lucien and Eirkoris is unknown to the rest of the party. Believing them to be dead, the protected members of the group tried to sleep in their sorrow.
