Types of Rests
Short Rest:
10 minutes of non-strenuous activity including eating, drinking, reading, and tending wounds. Characters are able to use any number of their hit dice. Characters regain abilities that indicate a short rest. Characters do not regain health, hit dice, or spell slots.
Long Rest:
6 hours of downtime including reading, sleeping, talking, eating, or standing watch. Characters regain half their hit dice (rounded down). Characters are able to use any number of their hit dice (hit dice gained from the rest are restored before characters are able to use any of their hit dice). Characters regain half their spell slot per level (rounded down). Characters regain abilities that indicate a short or long rest. Characters do not regain health. If the long rest is interrupted by strenuous activity - at least 1 hour of walking, fighting, casting spells, or similar activity - the characters do not gain any benefits from the rest. A character cannot benefit from a long rest within a 12 hour period. Roll for Exhaustion Recovery of 1 Point
Full Rest:
At least 10 hours of sleeping Characters regain all hit dice. Characters regain all health. Characters regain all spell slots. Characters regain all abilities that indicate they are gained from a rest. A full rest is only gained if the characters are sleeping in a comfortable bed in a non-dangerous situation (at DM’s discretion). A character cannot benefit from a full rest within a 24 hour period (defaults to long rest). Recover 1 Point of Exhaustion
