What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently, you can only choose 1 Leader article link in the Organization template->Generic-> Leader or 1 Ruling Organization in Organization template->Generic->Ruling Organization   But for many form of Organisation, there can be many Leaders or ruling organisation, for example, the UN Security Council, I would consider the 5 veto members the leaders of it, but only one could be chosen. Or Swiss Federal Council is made of 5 co equal minister, with one that happens to hold the title of President but in fact it is a Collegial structure. Or the Dual Kings of Sparta.   And so, similarly to Organization template->Generic->Founders line, I would suggest the Leader and Ruling Organization be able to have multiple choices.

Thanks for your suggestion! We're accepting this because we understand (and agree with) your reasoning. However, such a change will require a database migration when turning the dropdown selector into a multiple-choice format, so we've added it to our backlog as low priority for now.   In the meantime, you can use custom side panel fields: check here for more details.

    I believe these fields contribute to the org chart, which can only accept one parent. The ruling organization exists to allow for multiple leaders - the leaders are the members of the ruling org. If you don't care about the org chart, then using
    KEY
    VALUE
    bbcode in the sidebar gives you that full customizability without constraint.

    While I understand the dilemma, this is already easily alleviated using key value pairs

    This would also be useful for alliances and coalitions - which also use the organization template - which by their nature usually don't have a single leader. Such as the Allied Forces or Axis Powers of WWII, or NATO of the present day.

    (I'm low on coins, otherwise I'd vote higher.) This would be extremely helpful. I know there are other field templates where you can select multiple characters/locations/etc, it would be awesome to see the same applied to organizations. I have lots of governments where multiple people hold equal ruling power and the lack of this function has simply made me avoid filling those sections out.
