There is no way to include a link or text referring to the content license for images and have said information show in the article as part of the attribution.
Adding a field for License to images would allow users to add a text blurb describing or hyperlink to a License, satisfying many common Content License provisions.
None. It simply allows users to add/display content license for images used, which is necessary to satisfy some content licenses.
This would provide greater flexibility and readability for licenses that do not have a tidy image, link, or easily shared symbols to go with them. Presumably, it'd also allow users to style it more precisely than including it in an image description or link. Image titles and descriptions can already get crowded when there is a lot going on. Having a separate field for them would help to keep things tidy. It would also serve as a handy reminder to include it while sourcing ;) People who don't need it don't have to use it.
Hello! While having a separate field might be useful, you can already do this! For example, in one image, I put this for the author: The British Museum which puts in the creative commons image and link directly. [licence:cc-by-nc-sa] (here's the link if you want to see the pic and how the CC license looks Hunter Uniform) And for those who might not want it visible, it can be added to the image description Check out this page of the codex for the Creative Commons Licenses BBCode https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/bbcode
I'm mildly interested but not sure how useful this would be and to how many people. Now, while I do like this as a way to include all the licenses that I have to download from certain sites, I don't want them displayed like credits are. Rather, I would instead like to have it available for me (and developers) to see and thus, if there are any issues, it can be resolved fairly quickly as all records are there and already attached to the image for reference.
I think this is a good idea and lines up rather well with WA’s policy in crediting creators
