What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

The adult content warning page has a few issues with how it is presented, not only for people not having/not wanting to create an account just to read the article, but for people not wanting to read the article as well.   First: There is no option at all to access sensitive pages at all as a guest on This page. All they see is a message telling tham that they should create an account to read the article.

Idea

An „Are you sure?“ button to confirm that they want to read it regardless acknowledging the sensitivity warning would help us to allow guests to read articles by jumping through a confirmation hoop. Maybe even a double confirmation to prevent accidental confirmation.   Second: In NSFW articles the comments are prone to contain sensitive content as well, but the page doesn’t censor them at all.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

It allows sharing sensitive articles with a broader audience over Social Media for example and prevents underage readers to read something in the comments they shouldn’t read.

    It would also be useful to add a text line as an additional option in the article preferences where the author can provide specific content warnings. This would give more information to the reader to decide whether or not to continue.

    It's really weird that the comments aren't hidden.   I have seen websites ask for birthday to view age-gated pages before.

    it is a good idea however there is just 1 downside with someone not having a WA account confirming they want access to said NSFW article, has can't verify the age without asking more information but yet again those information might get falsified but that's true of every verification pages

    I suppose protecting underage readers without a login will be difficult, but I agree that comments should be gated the same way as the actual content.
