The quick article creation tab in the QCC is ideal for making links to non-existing articles fast and efficiently. However, I often explain what the name or term is I'm linking to through an excerpt.
Right now the QAC allows one to write a vignette and a seed for an article, but no excerpt. This leaves links to the article (article blocks, lists or even as a link in another article if article tooltips are disabled) without a description until added later.
The feature would add an excerpt box to the quick article creation tab in the QCC. This would allow people to add excerpts to newly created articles.
It is mostly a small QoL that allows new links to already have an excerpt when created and removes the need to add them afterwards.
A quick visual how I would imagine the feature gets implemented.
When I started reading this, I was initially against it. I still think its pretty specific to your specific workflow, but by the end I could see how unobtrusive it is. I'll still vote for it
Excerpts are really useful and typically one of the things I add to an article first.
This would be very useful - it means that even stubs will be informative when linked in other articles. It also removes the worry of forgetting to add the excerpt later on, since it's invisible from inside the article except on its specific tab.
No, the current layout is perfectly fine, stupid!
