Hekate- Cliff Side

Hekate and Cecily sat in a tavern Kalymis. They came to a smaller fishing town where they wouldn't have been noticed, and currently were failing at doing just that.

“So we say we join you!” One of the two men who sat across from them said.

“Why.” Hekate said simply.

“Simple, we never seen no one get thru those waters safely!” The other man said. This one called himself Elias, the other was Linus.

From what Hekate had pulled they both were fisherman who had decided they were tired of just fishing in these parts. They wanted adventure, and from the looks on the other tavern patrons faces, this was not their first attempt at joining a crew.

“Look, you don't want to get mixed up in what we are doing.” Hekate said dismissively.

“Aint that our choice to make?” Elias asked. “If we wanna get mixed up in something, isn't that our right?”

“What's the harm?” Cecily asked, sipping at the drink in front of her.

“Because we are pirates!” Hekate declared. “Joining a pirate crew is dangerous!”

“And we live for danger!” Linus stated.

“Yeah, we are the type to find Danger and say ‘Aye their buddy, want some clam soup? No? Okay, how about some clam porridge? Still no? Well I'm running out of things that use clams. What? You don't like clams? Well what are you doing at a clam market!’” Elias monologued.

“I.. Where do I even begin to process that one?” Hekate said sadly.

“Just let us join ya cap, we can pull our weight.” Linus said.

“Yeah, and we can pull some of yours too.” Elias said.

“Fine.” Hekate said tiredly. “Just know you signed up for this. You can help run a ship right?”

“Like the back of our mama’s infectious lumps.” Elias stated.

“Gross.” Cecily said.

The next morning they all met, to Hekate’s surprise they could get the ship going. It wasn't long before they were off on their adventure, fully restocked with the things Linus brought from home. Most of it included clams they had caught yesterday and hadn't sold yet.

A soldier, a mermaid, and two fishermen, what a crew these guys were.

“So, they say the island is somewhere around here right?” Cecily asked as Hekate looked out into the distance.

“Yep, but I don't see. What's that?” Hekate said, spotting a dot in the distance.

It only had taken about half the day, but they found the island they were looking for. There was nowhere for the ship to dock as the island was a large rocky wall. Hekate spotted it, a fruit tree at the top.

“How do you plan to get up there?” Cecily asked, looking at how the waves bashed against the island walls.

Hekate wasn't sure. They managed to anchor close by, but couldn't get any closer.

“Why not swim?” Elias said.

“The waves would crush me against the walls.” Hekate stated.

“We dont want our captain dying on us.” Linus stated to Elias.

“Oh, why not climb?” Elias asked.

“Cause of the waves Elias.” Linus explained.

“But, just avoid them.” Elias said.

“How in hell do you expect him to do that.” Linus stated.

“Oh, I can do that a little.” Cecily explained.

“You can?” Linus said in shock, Hekate was in a similar boat.

“Uh Huh, we mermaids are good at that.”

“You're a bloody mermaid! Elias! We hit the jackpot! This is the crew of our dreams!” Linus said, doing a little jig.

The plan was formed, Cecily would slow down the waves in one area with her mermaid hooziwhatzit as Linus called it, then Hekate would climb up. He would signal when he was coming down and she would slow the waves down again.

The water was icy cold, luckily he didn't have to swim at the start as Cecily offered to carry him closer. Once the waves were slowed he began to climb. The rocks were jagged and cut at his hands, but he made his way up. Once at the top, he found the tree, and one fruit.

The fruit was strange, with odd swirls and a sky blue coloration. He was no expert on Devil Fruits and choose to not eat it at the top. Once he was one the ship however things were different.

Everyone cheered as he held the fruit high, and put the whole fruit in his mouth. It tasted awful. Still, he swallowed it whole and felt the power fill him.

This fruit was known as the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model Hawk. in seconds Hekate was flying around in the air, feathered wings sprouting from his arms.

“This is awesome!” Hekate yelled out. Once he had finished the flight, he returned to his ship. “Alright, now then. We are pirates right? Maybe its time we left this archipelago and do a little piracy, a little adventure. What you guys think?”

“Hell yeah!” They all said proudly.

“We need a crew name don't we?” Cecilly said. “All the best crews are known. Like the Roger pirates.”

Hekate thought about it. “Alright, we will be the Pantheon Pirates!”

“Oh brave.” Linus said with a smile. “I like it, Pantheon Pirates it is!”

Thus began the adventures of the Pantheon Pirates. A few years went by before they heard the tale of the Umbra Pirates. Hekate looked forward to more pirates in the grandline, he just hoped they pulled their weight.
