Tolkien, Eragon by Christopher Paolini, 1984 by George Orwell, Barn 8 by Deb Olin Unferth, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman, the whole Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, and everything by Terry Pratchet.
