Tharizdun, the eternal darkness
Tharizdun is an ancient entity, older than all but the great gods who banished him to a shapeless void outside off the known multiverse. There, an abyss grew out of the mad god's endless imagination and destructive nature.
The mad god's dreams are constantly shifting and changing, but they all center around an endless craving to consume the rest of the multiverse until nothing is left but darkness. His dreams sometimes break through the material plane, corrupting nearly anyone who they reach and sometimes opening a rift to Turbaris.
Tharizdun lures followers with the promise of complete knowledge of the multiverse for those with the will to understand it. The greatest trick of the eternal darkness is that it uses its followers' arrogance to convince them that they are becoming stronger and saner, while in fact they are slowly consumed by madness. His followers tend to be nihilistic and, depending on how closely they have communed with their god, quite mentally unstable.
