Raithanam (rite-aan-aam)

The Raithanam (alternatively called raithans or season souls) are fey who, on the surface, appear similar to elves. Under the surface, however, they are a distinct species native to the Antumbral Plane. They According to their cultural lore, the Raithanam were manifested by the magic of the Antumbral plane itself to tend to its lands throughout its hyper-exaggerated seasons. As a result, raithan biology shifts according to the seasons, expressed through physical adaptations such as resistance to cold weather during winter or the ability to teleport other beings during the spring season (when many of the more dangerous fauna of the Antumbral Realms hunt them as part of their mating displays).
Though they are not terrible common on Zor, a number of raithan colonies do exist in the extreme biomes of the Reach, the deserts and mountains of Aeuz, and both the temperate and tropical forests of Kaeol. Those raithans who do venture into the Physical Realms prefer regions with distinctive climates, which allow them to develop a measure of control over their seasonally influenced traits. For example, raithans who settle in the far north of Aeuz gradually develop the ability to remain in their winter morph throughout other seasons, while those who grow up in evergreen forests of southern Kaeol master control over their spring morph.

Seasonal Resistance

You may replace the Fey Step racial trait with the following:
You have resistance to one of the following damage types according to your current seasonal morph:

• Fire (Summer)
• Lightning (Spring)
• Necrotic (Autumn)
• Cold (Winter)

You may change your seasonal morph once per day following a long rest. Doing so requires that you spend your long rest recalling a long period of time during your life spent in a climate that reflects the chosen seasonal morph.
