Will of Persea

The Will of Persea is a religious organization founded after the disappearance of Aryennos the Light Seer. They make up the ruling structure of the theocracy of Astoydan. Peacekeepers by nature they maintain order and try to live as peaceful a life as possible within their nation. However, with the barbarian tribes to the north constantly raiding for supplies and the recent struggles to the south with the fall of the kingdom of Apreau peace is far from in sight. That said it is the will of the Devout, as they call themselves, to ease and prevent suffering wherever they can and in doing so many of the common folk of Astoydan enjoy a relative peace within the nation despite the constant turmoil outside.

Structure

A top down structure wherein the leader is known as the Prophet of Persea, a title given to a girl marked from a young age for greatness. She is raised and fostered by a tight order of warrior priests and priestesses that make up her close confidants and personal guard. Below them are the middle ranking priests, oracles, physicians, etc within the order and at the bottom are the acolytes.

History

After the disappearance of Aryennos the Light Seer, considered to be the first Prophet of Persea, the order was founded as a means to maintain law, order, and protect the citizens of the newly founded nation of Astoydan.

Divine Origins

Aryennos the Light Seer was the official founder, albeit unintentionally, of the Will of Persea. She led her people to establish the land of Astoydan and ended the reign of Demons and Dragons. In so doing she brought an end to the strife and war torn nature of the world for a time and with that relative peace nations were able to spring up. Astoydan was the nation founded by the Will of Persea who believed that the Goddess Persea herself blessed Aryennos and gave her the ability to change the world.

Cosmological Views

The Will of Persea shares the belief of many other groups. The Gods created the world and shaped it after twelve sigils. These sigils being carved into the very sky as constellations and each of these different symbols has different meanings, aspects, purposes and even wills of their own. It is also believed that throughout the ages certain great individuals will be marked with these symbols and will be harbingers of great change. Whether this change is for better or worse is relative to the time and who you talk to and what written history is to be believed. To the Devout they believe that such individuals are marked for greatness and bring good fortune. In this day and age they are among the few who believe such things.
