Lore

  • There exists a Goddess of Light/Creation (Lumina) and God of Darkness/Destruction (Abyssos)
  • Lumina could not create something that Abyssos did not destroy
  • They fought and with Lumina's victory, Abyssos was sealed away in the Black Spire (a prison in a realm outside of time and space)
  • This allowed Lumina the freedom to create the world of Azurra and its inhabitants
  • She also created Four Great Dragons to serve her and balance the elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water)
  • These dragons are Tervus (Earth), Mistralius (Air), Blasnir (Fire), and Lazulia (Water)
  • The people of Azurra lived in happiness and prosperity, but slowly Abyssos began to regain his power, poisoning the minds of Azurra's people
  • People then became capable of dark emotions, thoughts, and actions: hatred, deceit, killing, and the like
  • It is said that Abyssos cannot be sealed forever
  • After a millennium of imprisonment, The God of Darkness was released by a ritual performed by cultists, to whom he granted great power
  • These cultists became powerful servants, infused with dark magic and dubbed "The Dark Ones"
  • With their help, Abyssos sealed away The Great Dragons
  • During this time of crisis, four heroes were chosen by Lumina to wield the power of the Dragons
  • These heroes came to be known as the 'Wyrm Lords' and rose up against The God of Darkness alongside Lumina
  • A fierce battle ensued and the Wyrm Lords gave up their lives to defeat Abyssos The Dragons fell into a deep slumber after lending their power to help seal away The God of Darkness
  • Lumina, too, was weakened after sealing Abyssos away again and the world was left a devastated wasteland
  • Lumina did not have the power to restore the world of Azurra, so she led the remaining mortals to the planet's moon, Zilarrum
  • The remaining Dark Ones had their power stripped away and were left to fend for themselves on the ruined world of Azurra
  • With her remaining power, Lumina transformed Zilarrum into a new home for the refugees of Azurra before she, too, went to sleep and regain her strength in the safety of the White Spire
  • Over time, these events became myth and though most people worshiped their Goddess and revered the fallen heroes, some began to doubt that these events ever transpired
