The Weaver and the Handles Woven

In the Kingdom of the Elements there is a growing fear of who they call the 'dark angel' He and his followers come in the night, in the day, in the light, in the dark, and they take people away never to be seen again; and if they are seen again, they are among the Nine fingered. Not much is known beyond this; They take people.
Into the kingdom came a Reaper, who claimed to know where these people went. She claimed the dark angel was taking them and eating their souls. She told anyone who would listen that he needed to be stopped. The Weaver had no special combat, tracking or hunting skills. The Nine fingered were too powerful to be stopped by her. So instead she started weaving souls. Her people, the reapers known for their unique ability to take souls, have other abilities most don't care to know of. The Weaver, she can weave souls.
To be woven is to have your soul so tightly fastened to your body that it might not be torn out ever again, unless the weaver unties it. The weaver set to work in trying to weave all those in her small village on the outskirts of the Kingdom of the Elements. Now, those who fear come from far and wide to meet the Weaver, and some go further still to protect themselves from the nine fingered.
If your soul cannot be stolen by the dark angel, he can still make you into the nine fingered. Unless of course, you have no fingers. It is said the more powerful your magic, the more desirable you are to the nine fingered. There is a group of people out in the village of the weaver called the Handles Woven. born with powerful magic, they were woven and had their hands removed. No fingers, no problem.
The Weaver weaves, a knife cuts.  The weaver does not ask people to live a handless life, but surly there would be fewer without if she had never woven her dark tale.  Only time will tell if she has done enough, or just left a small population handless and woven.
