Vellin
History
Vellin is reputedly the origin location of the Air Yanryl species. During the Era of Predation, the Air Yanryl and some Land Yanryl withdrew to the caves of Yunmiril. When the Era of Predation was over, the Yanryl ventured out onto the mountains. The Land Yanryl headed south to explore, seeking a territory that could be theirs to hold, while the Air Yanryl stayed near the caves and created the grand city of Yunmiril open to the sky on top of the cave structure. The three towns in Vellin territory were set up as outposts to monitor for large beast movement in the wild lands to the north and west of the mountains. In time, they grew into towns. Tellindyl in particular has been thriving of late due to trade with Narzad.
Vellin Towns & Cities
Vellin towns and cities are marvels of architecture. They are multi-level with open spaces along the exterior where the Air Yanryl may be seen to fly from level to level. At the heart of each city are caves and caverns with internal springs, evidence that the racial memory of the Era of Predation still warns them of danger from without.

- Voice of Vellin - judges, mediators
- Eyes of Vellin - scouts
- Ears of Vellin - monitor mood of people, listen to grievances
- Teeth of Vellin - military leaders
- Claws of Vellin - military members
- Hands of Vellin - govern trade
- Wings of Vellin - messengers
- Feathers of Vellin - an honorary status for service to Vellin
