Weather & Field Conditions


Acid Rain

ACID RAIN

  The sky opens up and releases corrosive fluids onto the battlefield. While Acid Raining, Steel Type Pokemon are no longer immune to Poison-type damage and all non-Poison, non-Steel Type Pokemon lose a Tick of HP at the beginning of their turn.  
  • Users with Deadly Poison may activate it with a Frequency of Scene x 2 instead of Daily.
  • Users with Poison Heal and/or Toxic Boost may activate it in response to Acid Rain without being Poisoned.
  • Users with Immunity are immune to Acid Rain.
  • Venom Drench and Venoshock may have their effects triggered even if the targets are not Poisoned.

Eclipse

ECLIPSE

  The world is upended as moon and sun become one. While in an Eclipse, Moves and Abilities that rely on sunshine or moonlight are disabled. If the Weather is currently Lunala Waxing, Solga Waxing, and/or Sunny, this weather replaces it/them.
  Moves affected are: Lunar Cannon, Morning Sun, Moonblast, Moonlight, Moonlight Spear, Moongeist Beam, New Moon, Solarbeam, Solar Blade, Sunny Day, Synthesis.
Abilities affected are: Drought, Eventide, Heliovolt, Noctem, Shadow Shield, Solar Power, Starlight, Sun Blanket, and Sunglow.

Glass Rain

GLASS RAIN

  Deadly shards of crystal begin to fall from the sky, culling the weak. While it is Glass Rain, all non-Glass Type Pokémon lose a Tick of HP at the beginning of their turn. Additionally, roll a d4 at the beginning of their turn - on a 4, they are Lacerated. If they are already Lacerated, they become Badly Lacerated.
 

Healing Aura

HEALING AURA

  A glorious stream of life energy blankets the battlefield, soothing the combatants. While in a Healing Aura, Pokémon and Trainers regain a Tick of HP at the start of their turns. Dragon Type Pokémon regain a Tick of HP when hitting an opponent with a Dragon type Move.

Lunala Waxing (New Moon)

LUNALA WAXING (New Moon)

  While the moon Lunala is waxing, during the nighttime Dark-Type and Ghost-Type Attacks gain a +5 bonus to Damage Rolls, and Fairy-Type and Psychic-Type Attacks suffer a -5 Damage penalty.  
  • Lunar Cannon, Shadow Force and Phantom Force lose the Set-Up Keyword, and move immediately to the resolution effect.
  • Morning Sun and Synthesis cause the user to regain only ¼ of their full Hit Point value.
  • Moonlight causes the user to regain ¾ of their full Hit Point value.
  • Users with Shadow Dance will have their initiative doubled.
  • Users with Heliophobia will regain a tick of Hit Points at the end of each turn.
  • Users with Starlight may ignore its frequency.
  • Users with Shadow Shield resist all damage one step further until they are below 50% of their max HP.

Misty

MISTY

  Typically occurring in beaches or rainy areas in the mornings, mist makes it difficult to see the entire battlefield. Sections of it may be blown away with the Defog or Whirlwind moves. While in Mist, Dragon-Type Attacks suffer a -5 Damage penalty.  
  • Aromatic Mist and Mist Ball have double their usual effects.
  • All Pokemon & Trainers on the ground ignore the first turn of all Status Afflictions
  • Anyone without the Keen Eye or White Smoke Abilities have the AC of all Moves increased by +2.
  • The move Mist may be activated 5 times before disappearing.

Nuclear Fallout

NUCLEAR FALLOUT

  Radioactive dust fills the sky and descends to the earth. While in Nuclear Fallout, all non-Nuclear or Steel Type Pokémon lose a Tick of Hit Points at the beginning of their turn.  
  • Expunge cannot miss.
  • Users with Radioactive do not take extra damage when hit with a non-Nuclear damaging attack.

Plague

PLAGUE

  A swarm of minuscule bugs descend ravenously upon the field. While it is Plagued, all non-Bug, Poison, or Steel-Type Pokémon lose a Tick of HP at the beginning of their turn and Digestion Buffs may not be traded in. Bug-type attacks gain a +5 bonus to Damage Rolls.

Solga Waxing

SOLGA WAXING

  While the moon Solga is waxing, during the daytime Fairy-Type and Psychic-Type Attacks gain a +5 bonus to Damage Rolls, and Dark-Type and Ghost-Type Attacks suffer a -5 Damage penalty.  
  • Geomancy loses the Set-Up Keyword, and moves immediately to the resolution effect.
  • Morning Sun and Synthesis cause the user to regain ¾ of their full Hit Point value.
  • Moonlight causes the user to regain only ¼ of their full Hit Point value.
  • Users with Early Bird will have their initiative doubled.
  • Targets struck by the Dazzling Ability will have their Initiative lowered by 20 instead of 10.
  • Users with Sunglow may ignore its frequency.
  • Users with Radiant Beam may have the range be “Line 6” instead of “Line 4”.

Thunderstorm

THUNDERSTORM

  A vicious storm gathers and crackles with fury. While in a Thunderstorm, all non-Electric or Ground Type Pokémon lose a Tick of Hit Points at the beginning of their turn. Electric-type attacks used by Pokemon and Trainers touching the ground gain a +5 Bonus to Damage Rolls.  
  • Thunder cannot miss.
  • The effects of Charge, Electroweb and Magnetic Flux are doubled.
  • The Effect Range of all Electric-type Moves is increased by +2.
  • The Abilities Motor Drive and Volt Absorb are triggered at the end of every round.
  • The Ability Surge Surfer is always active.

Underwater

UNDERWATER

  You are completely submerged in water. See Suffocation rules for further details on drowning. While underwater, Water-Type Attacks gain a +10 bonus to Damage Rolls and Fire-Type Attacks fail completely.
 
  • For the purposes of Hydration, Rain Dish, Swift Swim, Desert Weather, and Dry Skin, treat the terrain as Rainy.

Windy

WINDY

  Not quite at the level of a tornado, but powerful enough to be annoying. While in Windy weather, Pokemon and Trainers must pass an Athletics/Acrobatics DC 10 when to remain in the air with their Sky movement capabilities, or pass a Focus DC 10 to remain Levitating. Pokemon that fail these checks lose their Ground immunity until they become airborne. Only make this check when initially entering Windy weather or when someone spends a Shift Action to make another check.  
  • Odor Sleuth has one less Scene use.
  • Smokescreen’s Smoke only persists until the end of the user’s next turn.
  • Whirlwind gains a frequency of At-Will.
  • Razor Wind immediately moves to the resolution effect, but still gains the benefits from the Set-Up effect.
  • Aeroblast is always a Critical Hit.
  • Hurricane cannot miss.
  • The effect range of all Flying-type Moves is increased by +2.
  • All Overland speeds are reduced by 1, to a minimum of 1.
